Lard is a special term to refer to rendered pig fat. Tallow is a generic term for rendered fat (beef, bison, pig, etc.).

Being as this fat is so much more close to human fat the body has a much easier time processing it in the body than nasty chemical concoctions like "vegetable shortening".

On the subject of raised beds if you follow the guide given but instead buy Cedar fence plank replacements you can save a bundle. They are about 6' wide and about 5"10' after you cut off the dog ear, and the best part is they are about $2 a pop. They are naturally rot resistant and won't taint your vegetables with chemicals like pressure treated.

So I built two 3"x6" beds for about $45 (1x 4x4 post ~$15 12x Cedar fence planks ~24). Note: (I used pressure treated wood but lined my bed with plastic so no worries of chemicals leeching into the soil)

FAVI LED-2 Projector & Screen March Madness Package! $239.99 (free shipping)

This is not a good deal or a good price. This is an overpriced projector screen and a throw away projector. These types of projectors can be had for under $50, and the screens are just more than they are worth.

I put in cheap door/window trip sensors that have a loud alarm, and some home security system signs/stickers. Now if someone approaches my house they see that it is "protected" by some security agency, and if they open a door/window they are greeted with an piercing alarm.

Mark Sisson over at Mark's Daily Apple had a great write up on this a while ago talking about the use of Pufas (polyunsaturated fatty acids) in cooking/baking.

If you were one who voted with the forth or fifth options it is defiantly worth the read.

Step 1: Remove the teenage boy from your bed.

J.K. Funny picture though.

I do many of these. I've setup a custom picture mode so I can get it as dim as is watchable without having to do a number of steps every time. I've also got wireless headphones.

For wireless headphones you are usually limited to using the large "studio" style headphones. I found a cheap pair on dealextreme.com that resemble a cheap AM/FM radio that I can attach any headphones to (nibblets are more comfortable for me to lay down with). One could also attach an FM transmitter and use a small radio as their wireless headphone receiver.

We're lucky to get 1.5 meals out of a chicken (2 of us), so I'll buy one hot one for that night. And get 2 of the "day old" cold ones they sell next to them at my supermarket.

I had a user in my office clean out a cabinet and find a large, white, industrial, aerosol can labeled "Monitor Cleanser". I told her to throw it away and never use it. It was pretty wicked stuff.

If you're going to be rebuilding muscle, cartilage, and other innards I'd say meat. If you don't have any digestive issues as a result of the surgery (can't eat solids, or can't poo) then most defiantly meat. One of the easiest things to digest and has all of the things needed to rebuild your body.

Also, no grain /low carbohydrate (like 100-150 grams/day) both of these will cause an increased blood sugar level which will increase insulin levels. Insulin is a pro inflammatory hormone that will make your recovery longer.

For the traveling business person these are great. But for anything other than presentation viewing these are usually garbage. I've used many of these types of projectors and find them lacking, especially when you try and put them at their maximum screen size (usually around 60").

The lack of resolution, low light output compared to their similarly priced traditional sized brethren makes them almost unusable for long form video watching.

But you can buy HD projectors about the size of a big salad tupperware (~12"x~12"x~4"), for about $500.

Most folks that need second breakfast either have a very large span between breakfast and lunch or just aren't eating enough protein for breakfast.

Coffee and toast and/or oatmeal isn't going to last for the 4-6 hrs till lunch. Because toast and oatmeal are basically like table sugar to your body.

Am I missing something about this? If you go to almost any home improvement store you can find a "utility" or "deep" sink with a vanity, that has storage. Usually in a variety of finishes.
Something like this.

I've looked at them a number of times, (I plan on putting one in my downstairs powder room) and they are always available.

3 things to watch for with these setups is:
1. Chandelier - ping pong balls don't have much to them but I've broken bulbs and glass pieces pretty easily with them. Also, if someone has one with loose parts (think of those old crystal pendanty one) things are easily knocked off.

2. Hitting the edge of the table with the paddle. This can mar up the wood pretty quickly. There is a reason their is usually T-Molding all around regular tables.

3. Table surface contact points. More than likely the ball wouldn't damage a table from bouncing on it but, kids like to hit the edge of the paddle against the table top (don't know why they just do). Also, the screw points for the net can easily scratch the table if overly tightened (this is lessened if your set has rubber pads on the feet).

My reccomendation is to get one of these sets, some plywood, paint, and some hinges and build a table top to go over your dining room table. My dad did this for us and made it so we could put a cloth over it at thanksgiving and seat 18 rather than 12. They make these for use on pool tables also. It was also small enough to fit into some brackets he installed under the table so storage was easy.

I just switched back to making coffee at home (terrible stuff at work got to be too much, plus easier to store the heavy whipping cream for it at home). I use drip method for single cup using a diy setup. I've tried a bunch of different coffee makers and I would just leave them and let them get gross. My method forces me to clean up when I'm done so it's nice.

PVC flange rests on top of the cup with a large food safe funnel with my filter/grounds on top (already had all the pieces). I can put enough water in the funnel that it will fill the cup in one go. The pvc never touches any food ( I cleaned it before i used it) so I just have to wash a funnel which takes about 2 seconds.

If I needed to make more than 1 or 2 cups regularly I'd probably go for a chemex. I want to get one but haven't gotten the go ahead from the Mrs.

Since my kids can't have beans or grains 1, 4, and 5 are out, but avocados are a must and worth the money.
Another thing I keep around that I picked up from my sister in law is, 100% pumpkin in the can. It is just mashed cooked pumpkin. You can find it organic and stuff. If you use the large square silicone ice trays you can freeze individual sized portions. They are great mixed with some full fat yogurt or just straight. I love it to as an alternative to oatmeal or other cereals for breakfast. Great with a little Penzey's apple pie spice.mmm.
