Commercial salad dressing can add hundreds of calories to your salad, because we tend to just splash it on, & prepared takeout salads are always drenched in dressing. OTOH, a homemade oil & vinegar dressing used judiciously should only add about 120 calories, if you use 1 tBsp of dressing per serving. Mixed greens vs spinach won't make any difference, they're both just leaves.

I cut the beast into quarters in a bowl of cold water, then fold the quarters back & gently work the seeds out with my thumbs.
@ rosebud: a fresh pom should feel firm & smooth& supple,without wrinkles, and the skin should be a bright fresh red. If it's an old fruit the skin will be hard & dry, the red will be faded & turning distinctly brown.

That picture makes me feel claustrophobic, there's way too much stuff crammed into that space. Also, it looks extremely staged.

Paint the wall behind the bed & move the bed to the centre of the wall. Get rid of the pillows, they look old & shabby. Pull the quilt up so that it becomes a bedspread. Get your pictures off the floor & hang them over the bed. Take down the posters taped beside the window. Hang the clothes hook thingy inside the closet (or get rid of it entirely) & hang the mirror on the closet door. Hang your clothes inside the closet, not on the walls. Hang Roman shades in a solid colour. Get a rug.

I would pull out the green from the quilt & then lighten it to a pale shade. And put an area rug over that (shudder) pink carpet.

Rice pudding. Panna cotta or other molded desserts. Poached fruits or fresh fruit platter (served with/without sorbet or ice cream). Frozen souffles. Whipped cream with anything.

Lowter, my pantry's that neat! Also, it's 3 shelves in a 1920s armoire in our living room, since we have a typical apartment galley kitchen.

I prefer to do it this way as I'm always paranoid about the boiling can exploding if I forget to top up the water.

Toasted leftover pane de casa, smooth peanut butter, black & blue jam (blackberry-blueberry). Fresh challah (slices or buns) with smooth peanut butter & thinly sliced Granny Smith apple. Chia flax bread with chunky peanut butter & lavender honey (my granddaughter's favourite). Any stale bread, toasted, with smooth peanut butter & mashed ripe banana. All with icy cold milk, of course!
