Here's a cool tip for someone with limited space.

I have small space. The bedroom is big enough to accomodate a queen bed. I bought a twin size mattress at Ikea (about 4 to 5 inches thick). I bought it on sale in the clearance area for less than $100. Whenever it's not in use, I store it horizontally and use it as a headboard. You can get different twin fitted sheets and change the look as you often as you like. Works great for reading and watching tv.

It's not the fanciest of things...but it works.

When guests come over, just plop it on the floor.

I like this a lot. Not my style....but very clean and bright.

Please don't ever take the "Fuck It" down. I don't think I've ever seen such controversy on AT (LOL!).

Sometimes life gets you to that point where you have to say "Fuck It" and move on. I like how she's taken such a "terrible" word and filled it with color and life. Hilarious that it's tucked away in the corner and people are up in arms. I think I read a bumper sticker that said "Well behaved women rarely make history"....Good job!

Not my style at all but love it! I love the colors and textures. I disagree with SherrybinNH. I have no idea who this lady is but love her sense of style. Tired of seeing Mid-Century ...overdone...including in my home.

I think it's one of those things that would be fun for a minute then lose it's appeal.

You can wash most covers. Just use cold water with a gentle detergent and air dry. A good tip for putting covers back on a stubborn seat...turn your cover completely inside out and work your way back in.

I bought a small drop leaf table that came with a leaf. A friend of mine and I split the table in two and attached the center to the wall with some brackets. When not in use, it serves as an entry able. If you want, you can saw the corner legs to be even with the skirt of the table and use one of the extra legs in the in the center. You'll have a one legged table that can now house chairs more easily. Total project cost was $25.

I love heated floors. I lived in Korea for 2 years and this is a standard feature in EVERY home. No more cold feet and lying on the floor is very comfortable. Sometimes the apartment would get too hot, so we would have to open a couple of windows to cool the place down. I wish it were a common thing here.

Hey...great tie collection. Makes me wish I would have held onto mine...almost ;-)

Also, your night stands! I have the same exact ones! I love them. Do you have any info about them?

Make sure to wear gloves. Miosture from your hands can start the rusting effect. I was lucky enough to find mine already sanded down and sealed. Metal furniture can be tricky to work with but the end result can be awesome.

I would also recommend just painting it. Much easier than the alternative.

Good luck!

LOL. I remember my mom used to make this when I was a kid. Not sure why she started. Just out of the blue, she came home and started making a ton of this stuff. I thought it was supposed to be some kind of herbal medicine...I stayed away from it. Does anyone know the background on it?

Having the bed on the floor is great if you have back problems. I discovered this as I was moving and had to sleep with just the mattress on the floor. Box springs are specifically made for each mattress. The lower part supports the springs in the mattress at speific points. If you have two different pieces or the box spring has given out, then the springs are probably out of line and are not getting proper support. When the mattress is on the floor or an evenly flat surface, it gets even pressure and proper support. I've been sleeping "on the floor" for years and love it.

An added bonus is that it makes a small room look much larger.

I actually stayed at this hotel. They also have regular rooms at more resonable prices. They are all beautiful rooms with the same wood paneling. The pool was awsome! It overlooks the Pacific Ocean. This is a great place to get away and relax.

I like the concept.

Maybe use bifold doors as "shower curtains".

It could add some visual interest and be something different from the standard curtains.

I have one similar to this piece. It has become very useful in a awkward corner that I have. I put a small radio/cd/ipod player and a small lamp on top. I also paired it with a comfortable vintage chair. Now my awkward corner has become a nice place to read and listen to some music.
