My husband and I bought two First Years True Fit convertible seats and they've been working out great, since the day we brought our boy home from the hospital. The fact that he was a 9lb 13oz newborn might be why though! I decided against infant carrier seats because a) I wasn't sure they'd be safe since I'd have to reinstall them every time we went to the car (I know they're tested and everything . . . I don't judge anyone for using one! This is just a personal thing on my part . . . I was afraid I would mess up the installation) and b) I see this is getting touchy in the comments but I wanted to use a carrier and keep my baby close to me instead of in a seat. It was rough to learn how to get around without the seat and I totally see why some moms would use them but for us, using carriers has worked out really well! Our baby boy's nursery is covered in things we hope he'll like: lots of framed records (my husband and I work in music) and rocket ships (we're both space/physics obsessed). We might just have to add a few cathedral prints too! Little Frank's Nursery Artwork | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I love this look but have the same feelings about quake safety in LA! Our nursery has safety glass mirrored closet doors which I wouldn't want in my own room, but I think will be GREAT for a baby! He'll be able to see himself as he crawls and plays. Using a Mirror in the Nursery | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I immediately thought antique tile as well. I've seen some GORGEOUS things in old pubs in the UK. There's a site called victorianceramics.com that makes reproduction tiles for fireplaces. Don't Like the Marble Surround — Replacement Material? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

I LOVE this! $119 is pricey but it just might be worth it to eliminate the eyesore factor. Kiddy Guard: The Roll-Up Baby Gate Alternative | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I'd make it into a pillow . . . a small pillow with a ribbon attached for hanging would look cute tacked to a wall. Making a Memento from a Tshirt Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |
