I too wish I could vote for you more than once. I love, love, love the Murphy bed, I also just appreciate your style and the fact that your place is not cluttered. Your beautiful furniture pieces are visible and prominent because there isn't a big bed taking up floor space. This space is perfection. Thanks for sharing.

I have been looking for a tiny space like the ones I've seen here and I keep wondering why some of those entered aren't wishing to use their winning money to purchase a Murphy Bed, as I would in a tiny space. I am just loving these tiny spaces and the creative ways that people set them up, but a Murphy Bed would free up so much space. I know, I might be the only person who loves the idea of pushing my queen sized bed up into a skinny cabinet with shelves on it, or a table that drops down or, or, or. Anyway, love the wall treatments behind the bed and sofa in this one.

How about some sunshades erected vertically or hung like a curtain on a frame? There are a lot of outdoor curtain materials available and they could be hung anywhere you need to have them and they could be totally movable. Several could be used in different places to cover and shade where you want it.

I used an air freight company called Forward Air. It was very reasonably priced and prompt. I had to pack with extreme care and I used a lot of bubble wrap, but everything arrived in one piece. I didn't ship any furniture, only household goods, books and clothing. They will give you quotes over the phone and are located near most airports. Good luck.

I think it is for making spaetzle. The thing is set over a pan of boiling water and the batter is poured on top and pushed through the holes.... My grandmother had something similar.

This will sound very, very strange, but fill the pan with enough warm water to cover the stains or burned on debris and place a dryer sheet in that water and come back the next morning and your burned bits will wash away. I swear this works. I learned this from a friend after spending days trying to get a lasagna pan pristine, and I did.

I live with a bowl of the Spicy Green Sauce in my frig. I put it on everything that isn't desert. I even smear it on toast for a snack. My recipe isn't exactly what yours is but close enough and soooo yummy. Romesco and gremolata are also worth trying. Yes, a big, fat spoon full of huge flavor will make a simple dinner pop!

I am in the "no oil" camp. I love my pasta to be quite "sticky" with starch and I don't make wet sauces, I just saute something, usually a veg, with maybe some sausage or other flavorful protein, with lots of herbs or seasoning and use the starchy pasta water and some parm to create a creamy coating for the pasta, which is inviting the flavor to stick it's yummy self onto the sticky pasta. Works well!

I like this product and I can imagine so many uses. I like that I could reach, one handed, under my desk and capture some errant cable and put it out of the way. I also would like to use it as a curtain tie-back for the kids room, many uses in the kitchen, garage and back yard and I wonder how that thing would work on a ponytail...... Oh, this could be used all over the place, however, the cost is a bit of a laugh, since these things would get lost almost as quickly as they came out of the packaging unless used immediately.

Having to live with granite is a small problem in the scheme of things. I happen to love my granite and the idea that it is nonfunctional just makes me scratch my head and say "what?". Plywood is nonfunctional as is old funky tile with nasty grout lines and chipped, stained laminate (I have lived in some interesting old dwellings). The builder grade colors are a bit mundane, but to be able to do pastry is a dream for me and wiping the counter directly into the under mount sink is sooo wonderful, in my view! If I were designing my own kitchen I would probably have a solid color quartz, but I'm good with the granite I have.

I have had a Romertopf for 20 years and I love it. I had tried to use it exclusively for chicken, however recently I begun to make chinese claypot recipies with pork or shortribs in it. I don't know what it is, but this pot turns out the most tender, moist, delectable food. I would buy another if mine were to break. I take very good care of it.

I love this idea. How, exactly, does one "pop" the seat out? I have been assessing my chair and short of jabbing a screwdriver between the plastic pan (under the seat) and the seat, I don't see a way to get it off. Does it require construction adhesive to stay in place once it is put back together?

I wonder if these could be sprayed with a little TJ's spray olive oil and baked. I need to give the bake thing a try because I have high cholesterol. I am aware that they won't be as yummy as deep fried, but......

I love the ice cream suggestion. My first suggestion would be to put it into cake or cupcake batter, or any baking mixture. On second thought, maybe a spoonful in teriyaki or bulgogi marinade. These are sweetish and can certainly contain ginger. Maybe a slightly sweet curried soup, like carrot. Salad dressing for an Asian salad or slaw, or even into homemade yogurt. How about a spoonful in your jam or perserves? I really need some of this stuff, now that I've spent time thinking about it.

I've tried the wonton wrapped mozzarella only I added a slice of salame into the wrap, al la Guy on Big Bite. It was yummy. I have also done the teaspoon of cream cheese with the addition of a teaspoon of guava paste in the middle of the wonton, folded it in a triangle and fried it up... My son was in love with it. Wonton has a hundred possibilities.

I have been making my own mayo for years. I recently bought a new immersion blender, as my braun got very old and slow, the process now takes about 1 minute. I don't think I would buy mayo again unless there were no electricity. I could use my whisk, but it does take a lot longer than lovely mr. immersion......

I went to live in Tennessee, for about a year, because I have a son there whom I needed to see more than twice yearly visits. I was in rural eastern TN and the nearest TJ's was 130 miles away. I would have paid almost anything for the joy of TJ's organic vanilla yogurt, or the selection of mustards or Teriyaki Turkey Jerky, or Tea Tree Oil soap, or any of the amazing snacks and cheeses, or, or, or. I have returned to civilization and spend quite a lot of time just wandering through the Henderson Nevada Trader Joe's, I have another son who lives in Henderson. My need for this service is unnecessary now, but a month ago or a year ago I would have been quite happy to pay the price! I have noticed since my return that even the smell of TJ's is quite comforting and makes me feel secure.. I know, I am suffering from an advanced case of nostalgia.

In another few months I will return home to the Bay Area, but if I ever end up in some tiny, little rural town again, I hope this service survives and flourishes because I will be using it.

I love bleach, I know it is a chemical and all the bad stuff about it, but I use it none the less. I keep a small squeeze bottle of approx 10% solution of bleach and water next to my kitchen sink along with my dish soap and sponge. My kids say I'm a germiphobe, but I feel there is nothing cleaner than a surface that has been wiped down with my bleach solution. Before I had a dishwasher I used it to sanitize my sponge daily. I also find the smell to be clean. I haven't killed anyone yet either.

These plyable ice packs can also be made with a mixture of salt and water, or alcohol and water with added food coloring. The salt or alcohol, or dish soap all prevent the water from freezing solid.
