I'm looking for a color for our den, which is very den-like, with only one window, red oak floor and brick fireplace. Also, there's wainscotting on the walls in a dark brown wood...should I paint the wainscotting a nice white and then go with a dark blue/grey on the walls above, or should I paint the wainscotting the dark blue and put a mellow grey on the walls above it??

I love that planter idea. I'm going to use that in my new apartment. Also, I think I'll get a few of these for crafty stuff and also my panties and socks. These are great ideas! Thanks!

I did this! My formal living room has a HUGE 5x8' window, and so I bought two shower curtains to hang on it. I'm doing custom curtains for all my (huge, oversized) windows, buying the fabiric and having my mom sew them, but the fabric for the kitchen and bathroom came out to $80, just for those two windows, so I thought this would be a great way to cut energy costs until I can get the formal fabric and all I really want.

They look great and work well. If only my cats wouldn't try to climb them, but at least they're hardy enough for it!

I'm painting my hallway a nice icey-blue/white tone, and want to highlight the foyer wall with a richer tone. I was looking at some brighter blue/greys, but I'm wondering if this will work better? It's just a little wall, and is opposite the formal living room so it does get some light, although we're going to put in some french doors eventually.

I can't post pics, but any advise would be greatly appreciated. Also, for what it's worth: I was going to paint my room the same color, with a very dark blue accent wall...my room is Very Bright.

I"m so excited to be doing this. I am going to try and post pictures over the weekend. My homework schedule is currently overriding my Cure schedule, but I plan to:
Paint the hallway and foyer
Paint the bathroom
Hang pictures and some art
Hang curtains in my room and my formal living room
Invest in some lighting solutions (lamps, mainly)

All kinds of stuff outside the house:
Fence a larger run for the dogs
Plant some veggies
Rip out some overgrowth

I'm excited and overwhelmed at the same time!

These are some of the things I'm going to work on during the Spring Cure! We have no system right now, and I'm going to institute one. It's going to involve some rearranging, just like DodieGoldney mentioned, in order to redirect the flow of stuff in and out of the house. I'm very excited.

It's such a pain, though, to do, because it's messy and dirty and you have to pick up and clean and go through things...I've got a plan to do a little each day so I don't get burnt out.

I"m not really into the "sparse" aesthetic. I like my furniture comfy, and I don't want to worry about bruises if I bump into it. (This is also why I eschew glass top tables.)

When will you show the happy medium backsplashes? These are boring. The others were bewildering. I want something simple but colorful, and subway tile is zzzzz-town to me.

Looks like it's only got red and black as the answers, with some rare combination getting brown.

I got black, and I hate to decorate with it. I like bues, greens, and browns, with cool neutrals. My favorite color is green, and I don't really decorate with it, even...

My Grandma decorated with only her favorite color and her whole house was different shades of purple. She loved it. I guess it's just up to the individual.

1. Colorful, and tall, shower curtain.
2. Skirt around the pedestal (this adds storage, too).
3. Curtain on the window.
4. Rug on the floor.
5. Storage basket on the toilet tank.
6. Towel rings next to the entrance.

I would choose a brightish color in you favorite palate. Blue, for me, or teal. I would stick with cooler colors to go with your gleaming white.

I like the second picture. But I'd think about keeping the panels...just put some curtains over them. They give you a lot of privacy, and block a lot of light; they also make for a more energy efficient space.

I"m looking at painting some of my house this month...I'm leaning toward a blue-grey neutral. Good luck!!

We have the LG 3-door one. That price is much higher than what we paid: about $950 at Home Depot. There was a reduction, and also a discount...it was a fantastic deal and we love our new fridge.

It's pretty energy efficient, and meets the new Energy Star ratings. I love the fact that we can store so much in it, though...our side-by-side had issues with large pizza boxes and other things. One thing I do dislike, though: you have to manually shut the doors, because they won't latch on their own. Ours beeps if the doors are open too long, so that helps.

Also, the freezer drawer is not for the organizationally-challenged. We don't have water or ice, though, because we don't use either...and there's significantly more space because of it.
