I got a chuckle out of the IKEA comment. But I like the simplicity of this place--wonderful use of 275 sq.ft.

I've learned on AT that dead animals are today's trendy decor items. I'll be keeping my eye out for road kill to add to my decorating projects.

Jed Clampett would love it. It's so Beverly Hillbillies.

ROTFLMAO! Reminds me of a chapter of Frederick Exley's book (A Fan's Notes) called "Journey on a Davenport", in which he doesn't get off his mother's sofa for six months. In other words, the backpack sofa is the perfect piece of furniture for riding out a long bout of depression when all you want to do is just sit and watch TV or stare out the window all day and not have to get up for anything. Got all your supplies right there.

For a second I thought Maya Lin was designing bathrooms. All the bathroom needs is a wreath and maybe some flowers to complete the war memorial look.

backwoodsla--the rug in the living room is an Angela Adams design called Munjoy. It's no longer available in wool, but a nylon version is still available from various sources.

You live in a world of illusion
Where everything's peaches and cream
We all face a scarlet conclusion
But we spend our time in a dream

Need to correct my earlier post about the color of the Lenny sofa I bought. The color is "granite", not slate. It's a very warm gray. A friend who was with me at Macy's actually thought it was more brown or taupe than gray. It's not too dark and IMO is an attractive, versatile color than could work in various settings. The Chloe also comes in granite, but it looks very different from the Lenny granite, perhaps due to the difference in material (weave compared microfiber).

I've heard a lot of retailers source their furniture from the same four manufacturers in the US. The main difference is the choice of upholstery and the amount of the mark-up. Anyone else heard this?

I bought the Lenny sofa last month in the slate color. The deciding factor for me was comfort. I was definitely in a Wallace Shawn mood when I bought it. Of all similar styled sofas at Macy's, C&B, R&B, and CB2, the Lenny was the best for long-term sitting or lounging. It's got a lot of cush for the tush. And for the back. The fabric isn't close to luxurious but fairly smooth, unlike the nubby fabric on the Corona. The Lenny sits up high and the seat is deep, which works for me (I'm 6' tall with long legs). But I can see a shorter person not liking its height.

The durability is still in question. I figure all sofas start to slouch after a while. It gives them a lived-in look and character. So its not a big concern for me, especially knowing the sofa didnt cost an arm and a leg.
