Kids, schmids... this may be the first time I've ever seen something featured on AT that I absolutely wanted to buy for myself! Just purchased the "Valentina Ramos Green Garden" queen duvet! @travanj... thanks for the link. It *does* put it in a bit more perspective (from someone who's never been to Hong Kong). What's that saying? "Believe only half of what you see and nothing that you hear." Or something like that. Still... nice photos... Michael Wolf's Architecture Of Density: Would You Live Here? |

Agree with @luckygirl that I'd like to see these labeled as "From the Archives." That said, I commented on this *original* post 9 months ago about how I hoped to have this done to my own (similar) porch, one day. Lo and behold... TODAY is that day! Thirty minutes until I have my contractor come to demolish and rebuild my porch. Why this is relevant... I *totally* used the "after" picture from this post as my inspiration (since my porch looks almost identical to the "before" picture). Erin's Front Porch Restoration My Great Outdoors |

Oh man... please don't touch the wood (especially as a renter). Otherwise, the paint definitely wins as an easy renter's solution. Before & After: A Painted Rental Bedroom Door Sixteen |

@jess13, I was thinking the same thing! My entire house has painted-over-wallpaper (too nervous to remove it because of the age of the house/lead paint fear). But, this wallpaper makes me want to slap up another layer! I will be scheming/planning on how to achieve this look with paints. :-) In short... LOVE the wallpaper... beautiful room! I've tried two recipes. The first was the banana/egg pancakes (with frozen blueberries sprinkled in). It was not bad (I'm trying to cut back on using wheat flours). The second recipe I tried was the one you mentioned for the cookies (banana and oats). Seriously... while I love the simplicity, they were NOT good. I LOVE the idea of cooking simply (and eating simply), so may try it again with a few more added ingredients (honey?), but the taste/texture was just a bit too *off* for me to actually enjoy them. What a weird and timely post, as I've just this past week started eating miso soup (with various fixin's) for breakfast. Though, I guess really not so weird because, as you've mentioned, the colder weather just begs for something that'll warm you to the core in the morning. My go-to miso paste that I use for everything (including a most excellent vegan spinach pesto) is this one. I get it at my local (Portland, OR) New Seasons or Zupans. I wish I had thought about this BEFORE I bought a bag of candy for the wee Halloweeners, but next year I'm getting little tangerines ("Cuties") and drawing Jack-o-lantern faces on them to pass out as treats. Whatever's left over, I will GLADLY finish off! This year, however, the leftovers are going to the office. Sorry office mates! Healthy Holidays: On Being Okay With Throwing Out the Candy |

Great suggestions! I live in the PNW... so lack of sun, rain, and cold make me hibernate. I'm definitely going to try Vitamin D this year, but when do you recommend having your "levels checked"? I've been getting out EVERY DAY during the winter and eating right, so I wonder if it would be best to wait until the Fall/Winter to do it, but by then I'm already in the thick of tired and depressed. Wow... what a timely post. I just had to put down my chihuahua companion of 13 years at the beginning of this month. I had her cremated and, along with the ashes of my cat, another chihuahua, my dad's dog, and my neighbor's dog, buried them beneath a weeping cherry tree at my new (and first) house. Okay... I give... *where* is the front door located!? I love your space and LOVE seeing "teeny-tiny" places featured because I'm trying to get ideas for converting my garage into a livable space. Sooo... color me *still* confused! Does this mean that in order to change my iPhone 4S's 72dpi into something print-worthy (to 300dpi), I should "convert to profile CMYK" in Photoshop and then uncheck the "Resample Image" box (as shown above) and change to 300dpi? Yes! I do this too! A couple of things I make with the leftovers: chicken fried rice and chicken and rice soup. Though... I have a question. I make the stock the next day because I remove the chicken from the bone before saving leftovers. This is something my grandmother told me to do, but I'm not sure why. I have it in my head that it goes bad faster if you leave it on the bone, but maybe my grandmother just needed to make stock the next day. Does anyone know if chicken should be removed from bones before refrigerating and, if so, why? One Woman, One Rotisserie Chicken, and Five Days: A Menu Plan Cooking for One |
