Tbh, I actually stopped reading AT for several months because I was just tired of the comments. I'm a community manager for a popular social gaming site so I'd prefer my leisure reading to not be such a downer on top of my regular work. I really appreciate the sentiments in this post, regardless of the author's example of her own DIY project.

I think some of you are completely missing the point and now personally attacking the author. Frankly, none of us know what was moderated and removed from her DIY post, so you are merely speculating. This is AT's attempt at engaging a more positive community, which *has* been kind of a bummer recently. Thank you, AT, for addressing it.

Thank god I didn't end up going to Target today to pick up detergent! I <3 Target but I REALLY do not understand the hype at all...why would you want to decorate your home with something that your 10 friends just bought? Especially in such a loud and obvious way.

I only ever fully dry sheets, towels, and undergarments. Most clothes don't need it or shouldn't be put into a dryer anyway. I like the suggestions in this thread, though I can't use a clothesline since my patio is under a tree (no light + debris). Sad.

I love studio designs/decorating ideas but would have appreciated more pictures of the actual space. Or at least a layout.

I agree with the others on TJ's produce...it's shockingly bad at my local one, even though I'm in the Bay Area, and therefore close to good produce. Fortunately it's across the street from our WF.

The store layout is also terrible. I have confirmed this at Bay Area, Los Angeles, and DC Trader Joeses. The DC Trader Joes is just painful.

BUT. I do love TJs because I "know what I want" when I go, as the post mentions. It also carries Chimay, a large/inexpensive variety of cheeses [WF's cheese selection is overwhelming], and great pantry & frozen foods.

I think these are great times to try to show your parents that "stuff" just isn't necessary to keep. I think its harder for their generation [at least I can tell it is for my family, my mom is probably around your mom's age I bet].
