@ peggy: i am constantly trying to move stuff around to make things less cluttered, but love my "things". i think the only way to solve this is a bigger place!
for my work corner, i strung a piece of string/twine from 2 nails and used tiny clothespins to hang little pictures and photos and bits 'n' bobs of inspiration.

@badjane: That made me laugh! Mark's 6'2" and I'm 5'8", so I wonder if we did end up hanging stuff on the high side.

@zzedla: I will definitely have to check out those shades. Thanks for the recommendation.

The little laptop desk actually folds out into a chess table, where the chessboard is different colors of wood inlayed into the surface. Maybe someday it'll be used for it's original purpose, but until then it'll just have to be a boring desk :)

PS: the "gallows" lamp is still one of my favorite things in our place.
