While we do not have Ikea cabinets, we used a local cabinet maker who made just doors for us. The existing cabinets were a decent and solid wood, but had yucky yellowed laminate doors.

For a ridiculously low price (I was beyond shocked), he took all of our measurements, produced the doors out of particle board, and even drilled the holes for the hinges. He could keep the cost so low because we picked a cheaper material and he basically plugged in the measurements into his software which then was sent to equipment that auto-cut each door.

My husband has tons of experience in painting so we handled that ourselves. It was a lengthy of a process, probably took the course of a month, we primed, sanded, and painted each door on weekends it didn't rain or nights after work. We absolutely love our kitchen AND the price tag that took to get the cabinets the way we wanted them.

I was re-gifted an AeroGarden. Skeptical at first, but I love the thing! I only use it during the winter when I am unable to get my hands on fresh herbs and lettuce. The seed pods full price are ridiculous, but I've scored them at about a buck each through Amazon markdowns.

All that said, I'm not entirely certain I would pay full price for any of it. For a re-gift to be used in a dark townhouse kitchen with next to no chance to grow anything inside, it's fantastic.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who gets annoyed instantly when I see someone whip out a checkbook.

If you've waited in line you obviously have time to get yourself organized, do all of it prior to the cashier completing your order.

What's nice about Ikea is that they have (or at least had when I was purchasing) different levels of mattresses available for their futons. I knew that mine would be folded up everyday and then open to be slept on nightly. With that in mind, I purchased a futon mattress "graded" for nightly sleeping. It was a foam/coil combo. Granted it was more expensive (I think I spent about $500 nearly nine years ago for the frame, mattress and cover), but I slept on it for 5 years and am still using it as a guest bed with no complaints.

I echo the same of tomatoes that are just stagnant though I'm keeping the hope alive. This is my first year using a raised bed so I'm constantly wondering... "is there too much drainage" or "is there not enough drainage" and "did I make the right soil choice"?? I'm still uncertain if it's my garden or the weather that's the cause.

From a roma tomato, a grape tomato, a cucumber and TWELVE pepper plants I have only had about 10 tomatoes that were edible. It makes me beyond sad.

I used 1.5 cups of water (reading the instruction as 1 and 1/2 cups) and it looks more like a batter than a dough... is it .5 or 1.5 cups of water?
