I'm completely and utterly smitten... especially with the colors. Wow.

The area just to the right of the stove does look sort of awkward... what about placing a bar cart or bar cabinet (my immediate thought was a corner cabinet placed to face the living area & mirroring the angle of the chair on the other side of the fireplace) in that space? If it suits your lifestyle, it could make for a smoother transition between the kitchen & living areas.

My french press has a really fine screen in it that (it seems to me) would make it nearly impossible to whip cream properly. If the screen were removed, then there's be just a piece of metal with holes, and that might work better. Interesting idea.

My immersion blender came with a whisk attatchment that makes beautiful whipped cream. I also have a battery operated milk frother that works well for small batches of whipped cream. It's also great for making vinaigrettes and small batches of sauce.

You can design your own fabric & have it printed @ Spoonflower.com. Prices are really reasonable, too.

I also give my plants a shower 2-3 times a year. This not only cleans the leaves, but helps flush out minerals/salts that accumulate in the pots and can have detrimental effects in the long run.

I would use mod-podge (a type of glue) to cover them with some paper or fabric. That should hide the sun damage and allow you to adapt them to whatever sort of decor you've got going.

My kitchen's lack of counter space has forced my microwave to the top of the fridge. I heat liquids in something with a handle and/or use an oven mitt to grab hot plates. Problem solved.

The only thing that seems odd about this kitchen to me is how high the oven hood is, and how it's sort of blocked by that shelf.

I'm deeply in love with that exact same bookcase. It's made by Roost, and is really gorgeous in person. I think part of the reason it's so pricy is because the railroad ties are antique & sourced from India--from a time/place where creosote wasn't used to treat the wood. Most newer/American ties are treated & this makes them poisonous... rather unsuitable for furniture.

The frame of it is really straightforward, and I've thought of finding a welder who could reproduce it, then using some other kind of rustic-looking wood for the shelves: salvaged barn planks or live edge would look great.
