I always hit the salad bar for celery, it's not something I'd eat regularly and I usually only need a cup or so. Sure it's more expensive but I'd rather pay more than waste more.

Tomorrow I'm flying from Alaska to Germany with brownies and a pound cake for my fathers birthday. I think it's more about how something is packed and carried that matters most.

That's exactly how I've been folding my fitted sheets for a couple years, follow Esmeralda's instruction. If it doesn't work for you just remind yourself that there are other awesome things that you CAN do, like hulahoop, moonwalk, or bake a beautiful souffle!

Fantastic idea!! My 4 year old niece is moving from Germany to Colorado at the end of the month, this will be a great travel gift for her.

Very creative. I'd rather run to Goodwill or another thrift store to pick up more vases or or place my vases in the middle of leftover fabric and use string, rope, or ribbon to tie it in place. There's nothing wrong with mismatched vases or using glasses, mugs, cups, etc for flowers.

A perfect 10!! It's hard to believe that your kitchen went from hodgepodge to a cohesive unit for $89.

@ Uccelli Thank you for explaining that it's the bracket for the TV. The piece at the corner is obviously a leg that folds down. I was referring to the black piece that's running across the back of the unit in the triangle shaped section that the mattress and the unit form.

And the edge of the mattress that would be the hypotenuse of said triangle? Black piping?

Great and creative idea! Way to make the space work for you.

The first photo looks like someone did some editing. What would be the top of the mattress has a bold black border and a bracket along the back of the unit isn't visible in the other two photos.

The before was light, fresh, and airy while the after is rather heavy. The white oven helped the eye flow through without making it obvious that counterspace is limited.

Maybe it's just my group of friends but whenever we have a party, dinner, or get together the host gets swamped with either "what can I bring" or "how can I help". The main fare is usually provided by the host but sides, desserts, and beverages are often brought by guests. Last weekend I took brownies and a poundcake, both from scratch, to a fundraiser. This weekend friends are bringing veggies and dip, wine, and everything for s'mores to my weenie roast.

I use my electric kettle a couple times a day and have a hot shot, which heats about 2 cups of water in less than 2 minutes, in my office. I consume an insane amout of coffee, tea, and cocoa during our cold Alaskan winters.

Dragon Hill Spa in Yongsan was amazing. I can't wait to visit more bathhouses during my adventures.

Good eye MyDogistheShihTzu, there's something off about the angles and lighting in the corner at the top of the stairs.

I don't think it's a trend, people are becoming open to using non-neutral colors in large spaces. All of my walls, with the exception of two small ones, are either spring pea green or a blue similar to the one in photo three. My parents have a mustard familyroom.

Coming from an Army family I managed to not get attached to items. Albeit I love everything that I have and give myself mental fist bumps whenever people admire my cabin, I'd let it all burn simply because I enjoy starting over. I moved to Alaska with 2 suitcases and a box of music and pictures. As long as I have my passport and a memory stick with pictures from my travels I'll be fine.

Nope, not opening the door unless I recognize the individual. I'm lucky enough to have a glass panel in the door but if I didn't and if I didn't know the voice I'd probably yell that it wasn't a good time and to come back later. On the flipside, unless a close friend lived in the neighborhood, I'd simply run to the store for sugar, eggs, or whatever.

As with a couple of you, I was reaised in Germany and spent many afternoons shooting one end of the yellow capsule across the room. I'm not too crazy about the chocolate but the toys were great. My parents still live in Germany and my mother, who never breaks rules, sends them to me a couple times a year. I still have 4 from the Christmas box that she sent.

Sad, this seems to be a cute and colorful home but due to the poor quality of photos I couldn't bring myself to finish the house tour. The lighting was bad in most, at least two had nothing in focus, and the composition was just off.

I hosted my first CochSurfer in December and had a fantastic experience. By staying with me she was able to do/see more of Alaska and I was able to share my love for Fairbanks. To be able to spend time with likeminded individuals who enjoy traveling and seek out new experiences is enough of a reason for me.

As long as all individuals involved are up front about expectations and rules there shouldn't be any problems. It's not for everyone but neither are 5 star resorts...to each his/her own
