You can fancy up both whipping cream and butter (and probably a bunch of these other recipes) by culturing the cream first. To do this, you add a spoonful of yogurt with active cultures to the cream, stir it up, and let it sit out on the counter, covered but not sealed, for 12-18 hours. Then proceed as usual. When I lived in Guatemala, one of my favorite street foods was fresh mangos, sliced, and served with lime, salt, and chili. After introducing my partner to the flavor combination, he hit on the idea of pureeing the mango, mixing it all up, and freezing them. Like splatgirl, I don't boil my noodles first. I typically use regular dry lasagne noodles and simply make sure there's enough liquid in the sauce and filling to cook the noodles in the oven.
