I'm always skeptical of people who claim to not like things like garlic (and especially onions) unless they consistently avoid eating in restaurants.

I've had this one 2x now and I love it, love it, love it. It's super simple too.

My problem is that my husband stores cakes and pies in the oven. I can't tell you how many things I've re-baked by "pre-heating" them along with the oven. We are at an impasse - I can't get him to stop storing things in the oven and he can't get me to remember to check it before I turn it on.

@kestrel127 - I found a 13 inch cast iron skillet in the GARBAGE at work. It came with a donation and someone had just thrown it out! I gave it a good home.

Yes. I've taken clippings from plants and fruit from trees and I don't think there's anything wrong with it, depending on the situation - I wouldn't do it at a garden center, but a spider plant dangling over the fence? Of course. It's kind of the theme of my blog.

Our seeds arrived last week. Even though we have a CSA membership, we are of the theory that one can never have too many tomatoes, so we're trying 3 different varieties.

We're also doing hot peppers and bell peppers and lima beans.

I can't decide which I fantasize more about having - a dishwasher or a washing machine. Probably the latter because going to the launderette is a much bigger chore, but washing dishes is a close second.

By middle eastern food I mean, taboule, zatah, humus, baba ghanoush, stuffed vine leaves, olives with lemon, etc...

Often when I throw a party, I just lay a spread of middle eastern food which is usually quick and easy to make ahead, pickled things from the pantry and fresh bread.

Caviar is made by extracting the eggs from the fish's body, which typically involves killing the fish, so no, it's not vegetarian.

Oh and I'm in the glass jar camp, too: I use dry erase markers to label them and keep them in a room that's usually kept pretty dark.
