I agree, and these cabinets look fantastic. I had installed new dark brown cabinets and then a hutch also I had installed indistressed black oak so that thehutch looked like an antique piece and broke up the brown. The black also fitted in well with some of the appliances as well as a black wood stove that was already in the kitchen. I do like the idea of the darker bottom cabinets making the ceilings look higher as the white top cabinets blend in with the walls. Something to think about in the future. Thank you! Frances Seward.

I love it because they made it theirs. Whether it is my taste or not it doesn't matter - it would be a fascinating place to visit and inspiring for me to ensure one day I make my house MINE one day!! It takes work and love to create a home like this. Has tons of history and tells a story!

I love the feel of this house and the dining room and kitchen have most interesting and original colors. I also love the artwork. Would love to see it in person!

Very clever and a nice challenge. It must make you appreciate your space. I did not think that small spaces excisted in cities such as Austin - I would think more like New York or London! It looks very inviting and would love to have a space like that. Would love to see a picture of the whole apartment in one photo:)

I think the simpler the better. I think putting bar seats at the countertop would be great - 2-4 (1 or 2 on each side of the pillar) and it could be fun thing conversing around the pillar space. Also, perhaps and taking away the dining table and putting that somewhere else. I think a rectangular table would look good as well contrasting with the shape of the pillar. Can you move the sofa further away from the kitchen to include a rectangular table? Good Luck to you and really it looks fabulous!
