I brought little packets of almond butter on my last flight.. I didn't bring peanut butter because some airlines are peanut-free, but the almond butter went through security in my carry-on bag just fine.

I gave my 14-month-old one of those squeezable fruit packets (like Happy Tot fruit pouches) in the last 30 minutes of our 3.5 hour road trip. He was having a meltdown, just as I was getting lost, so I gave it to him to calm him down. He must have squeezed it in protest, because it ended up all over him and his car seat. It was EVERYWHERE. I'm surprised our dog wasn't covered as well. It had those little chia seeds in it, so you can imagine how hard it was to remove from upholstery.

Don't forget those light switches or the handles on your sink and toilet.

You shouldn't have to get rid of your toothbrush, as your body should have built up immunity to whatever you had so it cannot re-infect you again.

You can use salt to scrub out the inside of a toilet (it cleans, but don't expect it to disinfect, if you're into that).

I mix salt and olive oil for a diy salt scrub in the shower. Take a half cup or more of salt and add just enough oil to make it viscous but not soupy. You can add some essential oils as well, or a little vanilla extract for fragrance. Also, make sure you have a non-slip mat, or the oil could get slippery.

Clean a copper pot with a half a lemon covered in salt. The acid in the lemon combined with the scrub of the salt removes the tarnish. I hear vinegar and salt also work well, but it's easier to scrub with a lemon half!
