My grandma used to make Chicken & Dumplings like this except she would cut the dough into long skinny strips with a special cutter. They would sit resting on the cutting board with a towel on top for an hour or so. I loved to sneak into the kitchen, steal a strip or two, and eat them raw ( I know, we'd never encourage this now!). Even though they were flat & skinny, she called it "Chicken & Dumplings". Perhaps it depends on where you 're from in the South for what you call it (She was from Oklahoma). In the end, it's the taste that counts! Recipe: Chicken and Dumplings |

What a great set you have! I have 6 or 7 from this set that I used in my pre-k/ Kinder classroom. The kids loved them. They would play with them more than the legos. Since they are in such great condition, maybe consider letting your almost 2 year old use them...they can be used for stacking, sequencing, language activities, etc. They still have some life in them (probably until your kids are 5 or 6) & I haven't seen them anywhere "new" for purchase. Just a thought! Best. What Would You Do With This Vintage Board Game? |

Wonderful idea to use at home. A great (and cheap) way to laminate the cards at home is to use clear packing/moving tape. As a former teacher (and soon to be a stay at home mommy!), I would use this technique in my classroom all the time when I couldn't make it to the laminating machine.
