Ten Tips for The Sexiest Bedroom... Like Ever (And also for finding love)
2/13/12 5:15 PM

Ways to build anticipation for really good sex- not just for the night, but for the future.

1) A mysterious chest, box or suitcase for toys next to the bed.
2) A four-postered bed.
3) A really sturdy chaise or armchair with a luxuriously soft throw over top.
4) A lingerie chest.

... maybe it's just me, but that's what I look for in a "mature" woman's bedroom.

My partner broke both his shoulder blades a few years ago, and would love this- not just for cuddling, but for regular sleeping too. What they need is to make modular inserts for these- http://www.lovebumper.com/index.html - which are great, especially for those with mobility issues, but sometimes slip in the bed (possibly NSFW, no nudity). Then, I can see it being a bit more marketable. :)

These comments are hilarious. What exactly people think ethical veganism is, i sincerely wonder...

But, for the record, human breast milk is totally vegan so long as the woman it comes from consents and is not under duress. Cows cannot consent, they are like children, moral patients. Grown lactating human females are moral agents, and thus can choose to sell their milk. All the more power to them!

It's a salad spinner. No, I wouldn't spend money on a salad spinner for clothes. It does nothing I can't do in the sink by myself, and faster.

I would avoid processed protein powders- I use the whole-food, raw, organic, allergen-free supplement called Vega. It is a meal in itself and is thoroughly backed by science. But really, you shouldn't just listen to people's opinions on these things, read the details and decide for yourself!

The lower-fat spiced banana bread from Veganomicon is a staple of mine for gift-giving, and everyone always raves about it. It`s perfect in every way, though I especially like it with peanut butter!

Go to your local starbucks, say you have a starbucks stainless steel mug and you can't get it clean, ask for have some of their stainless steel cleaner. It literally lifts EVERYTHING off of the stainless steel, just add some to water and let it soak over night, then wash thoroughly. We've been doing it for years. :)

I work in a kitchen, and for that application, these do not work sufficiently. For health reasons, when you work in a kitchen and you cut yourself, you need to wear latex-free waterproof gloves. However, water inevitably ends up inside these gloves, and they need to be changes very often. Similarly, and bandages you have will need to be changed any time they get wet, since they will hold possible contaminants next to an open wound. Not good. The best bandage for staying power while wet is Duoderm or Elastoplast if you can't get that. And wear a finger condom :P

Seitan! Really good seitan, maybe done a few ways. I have never had the nerve to try it myself, the bag of wheat gluten sits there untouched, save the odd spoonful finding its way into bread dough. A how-to guide would be perfect for this tricky, but delicious, food!

I like cubed bread toppings. I make my croutons frying them in a little olive oil and seasoning them lightly, and toss them on top, usually over a layer of Daiya, and finishing with a sprinkle of paprika. That's how my mom used to make them, and it still seems like the right way to me.

Interesting post. We have a kitty who we rescued as special needs, she was anorexic and her coat was like straw. Poor girl just had no interest in food- the shelter told us to prepare for the worst, and even gave us a voucher for a free kitty if she died within the month (!). After extensive testing and a year-long elimination period which often involved syringe-feeding, we discovered she was allergic to animal proteins- at least every single one we were able to try her on. She eats hydrolyzed soy protein exclusively, since it is the only one her body won't reject. As with all cat foods, hers is supplemented with man-made ingredients, including taurine.
I make her treats out of wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, flax seed and kale which she simply can't get enough of. I have to be careful when I bring home my groceries that she doesn't get to the kale before I unpack it- she's been known to carry it off into 'hiding' for future consumption. She is very happy and healthy now, especially considering the shape she was in when we first got her. She is also the sweetest, most affectionate cat I've ever known. She still gets sick if she gets into animal proteins, but we're diligent about segregating the food.
I don't think I could make her food, simply because I have too many care-taking chores in my day already. Making treats is not a source of nutrition- she gets like, 3-4 grams a day of them, so I don't have to worry about messing it up and having it adversely effect her health. I would stress too much about having her food made just right.

I use them in making vegan coconut milk ice cream as a healthy thickener. So far so good! The key is to grind them to dust- a regular food processor won't do it, you need a spice grinder.
