Thanks everyone! I greatly appreciate your confidence in the Magic Eraser - which it looks like Ill have to use a lot more often ;)
And the clear desk top idea from IKEA - or plexiglass - are also great ideas that I'll look into. I've discovered, the hard way, that not all washable markers are equally washable, but I'm happy to have some creative alternatives. Ill be sure to update!

I was thinking of somehow attaching two sets of these 'bubble' shelves to the wall (in a random pattern) for my daughter's nursery but don't know what material they're made of (I have yet to see them in person). Does anyone know? And if so, is it 'carpentarily' possible to attach something that will also attach it to the wall? Thanks!

We use these and let me tell you, it's amazing! First off, the comfort is top notch. Second, it doesn't matter if it gets wet or dirty. Ours actually does double duty both in the garden and for the bath. Great great product.

This may be more uptown than you were planning, but recently I contacted the Country Inn the City on the Upper West Side to host a family member who decided to come last minute to NYC. I spoke with Fergus the owner who was very accomodating in terms of negotiating a last minute deal for me (I literally called the same day).
My point is, the accomodations look beautiful online and the location is nice for visitors given the park nearby and you won't have to worry about setting them up with furniture or food bc it's a B&B.

I would suggest calling to see about a group rate for your family members. Unfortunately NY lodging can get expensive but given everything else you'll be juggling with the wedding, you may want them to be as well off in their options as possible.
