Gosh I rented a place in San Carlos (SF Bay Area) for 13 years. First 10 years one owner, raised my rent once $50. These wonderful people sold the building as they were getting up in years. They sold to Dale and Laura R. A Dentist in the area and his wife. They raised the rent 50% yes I said 50% in two years. They refused to fix anything, I had mold in the bathroom that could no longer be ignored, they sent in a housepainter, I was like ummmmmmmmmm what the f? I finally called the City Inspector, who came out and said um, no painting won't work. They had someone come and do a bare minimum repair. These people are rude and disrespectful. Needless to say, I decided to move and not because the rent kept being raised, rents have been escalating in the Bay Area, but because I thought why would I continue to give my hard earned $$$ to these people, especially after Dr. Dale R...........told me the mold in my cottage was not the kind that would kill me. Oh ok, thanks medical man. My lab tests confirmed, no the mold wouldn't kill me, but was sure causing some respiratory problems. This is an 11 unit building that was occupied by very long term tenants, 1 of the 11 remains. The turn over has been very fast. Renters are people too, heck they are your customers........... BE NICE! The sad truth about being a renter is, the rug can be pulled out at almost any moment. I did find a beautiful apartment in a neighboring city. It's nice, very nice, but I miss my neighbors and the neighborhood.

I am so glad to see other comments. I looked and thought this looks like a space that a non-designer would think a design workshop would look like. The hairs on my arms actually stood up when I saw the Keep Calm Poster.

I have lived alone for twenty years (except for a one year break). I LOVE IT, I get up super early on a Saturday morning have a cup of coffee or a diet pepsi, watch a little TV then go right back to bed if I want. I talk to my cat, ALOT. I do like to keep things tidy but sometimes things just sit there. When people walk into my home they usually say, yep this is a woman's home. Not that it's pink and frilly but it's all me!

ohhhhhhhhh, I am a victim. Twelve years later, still there, the place is cuter than ever. New building owners who are such a pain in the neck, won't fix anything. Finally had to call the building inspector to fix the MOLD in the bathroom. The new owner said to me, "why don't you just move". REALLY, awesome neighborhood, adorable bungalow, and you seem to have no problem cashing my rent check. Why don't you just fix the problem. So many little things happen in a 1928 bungalow, but you couldn't blast me out of there! Keep in mind, the city inspectors will look at things that are a health hazard, which in my case it was. The other things I try to fix myself. Home is Home, whether you are on the title or you sign the rent check each month.

Born raised and still living on the peninsula. Breuner's was the middle of the road furniture place, they were not anything like Levitz, quality was much better. It certainly wasn't Sloane's or Flegel's but a very nice place to buy quality furniture. I miss Bruener's, bought my first bed when I came home from college and moved to my first apartment. I will never forget my Mom asking why I needed a full-size bed, wouldn't my bed from home be ok!

After spending a weekend in the "city" I am inspired by all things SF. What a beautiful apartment and use of space. I too would love to know where the chaise comes from, the placement is excellent, I will probably do the same.

I ordered an ottoman in the floral fabric. I LOVED it for about one month, but the fabric was not really upholstery grade and one year later it is really really shabby (not chic). I recently recovered with upholstery grade fabric and have my fingers crossed. The fabric is adorable, but not very durable.
