I have that desk at home and purchased it from Metro Retro in Phoenix (mentioned today on AT). It is lovely and most people who come by comment on it.

I can already hear Stevie Wonder singing The Little Drummer Boy on my new white Geneva sound system. Our newborn (our first) cooing while my wife and I enjoy a glass of egg nog 'round the tree, appreciating the blessings of another wonderful year...

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope to live out the above dream sans the awesome sound system, if need be!

colin,

Those chairs *are* hot. Where can you get them?

I have one Prouvé Standard chair (DWR floor sale is the only way I could afford it). The design is beautiful, but when I pull it in as an extra dining chair it gets tedious to sit in for a long dinner.

We have vintage Bertoia's at our table and I find them reasonably comfortable. It seems to me that the new ones are less flexible than the vintage ones - which is way less comfy! Plus the vintage chairs can be found for a lot less money. I think we paid $600 for four of them three years ago in Phoenix (with vinyl pads).

The Wegner chair would be my dream choice. They are comfy, gorgeous, timeless, and expensive!

sgt,

I agree that your solution is cheaper, but it requires that the computer wired to the printer be *on*. Our iMac is not constantly on, so when I print from my laptop the wireless printing is a terrific luxury!

Using the airport express to do wireless printing can be tricky. I finally got ours to work, but just make sure that you do some research online regarding your printer and router compatibility.

Once I got the Airport Extreme as a primary router, the Express seems to work a lot better than with the old Linksys. The itunes and printing works flawlessly now and it did not before the Extreme.

Benjamin Moore - Silver Fox. It is a wonderful grey color that does not seem grey at all.

It was featured in the color column on at a year or so ago. Using their new fancy search engine it should be no problem to locate...

We live in a "loft" like space and are expecting our first in January. Right now we are contemplating if we need to make a closed off, private, space for the baby. It is definitely a possibility, but we are not sure if it is necessary. Thoughts?

Looking over those pictures of the prairie burn I was suddenly driving down I-35 with the smell of a Kansas spring.

Subtract the moments when one finds himself downwind from a pig farm and that is a wonderful scene.

I am a KSU alum as well, and too have never heard of anyone going there voluntarily for vacation. Might I ask what it is that set you on your journey to our home state?

We live in Phoenix now and I miss the lovely green prairie daily... talk about brutal.

Kansas is awesome; enjoy yourself.

I love and devour design books fervently. My preconceptions of Fukasawa are thus: he designs primarily for muji; he is all over metropolis, dwell and other shelter mags lately; I envy his designs.

Finding out more about his background, professional past and future thoughts interest me greatly.

As such, I would love to offer my time to reading and reviewing this exciting text for the at community.

Thank you.

I agree that diverse ideas are good, but if we cannot at least offer criticism what is the point of commenting? I enjoyed the photos and the style of this space, just had some comments on the (in my opinion) uncomfortable tone the furniture sets.

There is no right answer to design, but part of the fun in sharing your ideas are to recieve criticism - not just gushing - no?

The place looks lovely. You clearly have a keen eye.

I appreciate your taste in designers; I sacrifice a touch of comfort for style sometimes too, but is your living room difficult to actually live in?

I am just not sure about the selection of furniture. In the second picture it appears that you have selected four of the least comfortable chairs in modern design history (Barcelona chairs are particularly beautiful and utterly useless to sit in).

When you use Ikea design icons exclusively it makes it easy to analyze your choice in furnishings and easy to tell that I would probably just stand and admire your furniture as apposed to sitting down.

All this to say that when I read through ATs mission statement and beliefs it seems that making ones house beautiful is only part of the goal.
