Lovely loft; I love the size of the place and all the light. However, it seems that the home seems very masculine, with too few feminine influences in it. Does anyone else think so?

This is a beautiful loft, with a great view! Love the 4-shelf, dark wood low bookcase in the dining room - where did you get it?

She has some lovely things, and her prices are comparable to Anthropologie's. Love the shower curtains (can't make up my mind which one I want), and the pillows are fabulous!

Use 2 curtains. @itchykitty - nah, never saw anything like you're describing in a so-called 'ghetto' home - did see something like it in a trailer park, though.

Love the designs! Would be great on an accent wall, or an entrance way or hallway, as well as an entire room. Not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.

I like that there's plenty of floor space around the furniture. I absolutely hate having so much furniture, what-nots and doo-dads in a room that you can barely breathe, move or function.

Besides the fact that he's collecting oil cans (never heard of it, but whatever), it looks like he's gone over the edge a bit. Do you really need 3-4+ cans of every brand of oil? Why not just one of each? Organized hoarding for sure.

My first thought when I saw the room was "yummmmm, Welch's"! :-) I love this room; the paint color is (fortunately) darker than I initially thought it would be, and the furniture compliments the wall color. I like the so-called 'impractical' objects in the bedroom, as there are drawers where the usually bedside stuff (books, glasses, pads/pens) can be kept out of sight. The soothing, monocramatic look is perfect for a bedroom - I lurves it!

Beautifully decorated room. Just goes to show you that possessing a good eye for design and style trumps being a label snob.

I agree with Bepsf's comment (especially the WTF) - just pull the table away from the shelving. Or, put some very cheap, highly breakable glassware on the shelves, let the cat jump up there - maybe the noise of the breaking glass - and it falling INTO the broken glass - will cure it of jumping. Or, just keep it out of the room.

@jokerman re: renting a condo. Best housing decision I've made (after I was talked into it). I live on the river with great (read: very quiet) neighbors, low rent and just 10 minutes from work.

A big improvement, but the mirror needs to be hung higher on the wall; the dresser, mirror and lamp all seem to blend into the wall; lamps should match; picture frames over the sofa could be different. There's not much color except for the coffee table - more wood tones in the LR would help. And "no" to the shelving; the metal takes away from the improved look of that area. Ok, I'm done - back to the design travesty that is MY living room...
