Is the room big enough that you could float the couch in the middle so the TV can go on perhaps the wall between the doors? You could even put the desk or table up against the back of the couch, almost like a console. Just a thought.

We have the same situation. Luckily the previous tenants built their own and left them behind, but you can also buy adjustable window screens at hardware stores. The billion coats of old paint and uneven walls keep our screens wedged in place, but if you have nice square windows you could maybe velcro the corners or something if you are worried about the cat clawing at them.

If you want to save money or for a temporary fix, you may be able to flip your existing bookshelves on their side...depends on what your current ones are like, but I've done it before to create a "bench" with storage underneath.
