Normally, I am also partial to white trim but your trim and hutch are beautiful and I can't stand to think of that trim being painted over. I saw try to clean it and polish it up and maybe go with a nice, deep butter yellow or dark-ish cream. The color would offset the color of the wood and really bring its beauty to the forefront.
