My current go to is a lentil burger with sauteed rainbow chard on a bagel thin topped with chevre.

I'm going to clean out the living room closet, so that I can temporarily store my excess clothing baskets in it, along with the vacuum cleaner, and brooms and mops.

I'm trying to convince the roommate to let me do some flowers (hell, I'm trying to teach her to hang up her damned coat). Until then, I'm just doing what I can to work on getting the apartment into shape to have people over. he does no housework whatsoever, and it looks like any cleaning I want done I will have to do myself.

I have a couple of friends who are willing to pend a day or afternoon with me to work on getting things unpacked and put away, so I am taking advantage of them.

Oddly, I started working on one of the piles in my room when I woke up this morning. Have stopped, and will go and make my list shortly.

I was intrigued by this, since I love fresh-made,still warm egg salad. Tried it for lunch today in a scaled-down version (for one person on Weight Watchers). Gotta say, I was not disappointed. It was yummy, and using one egg, a slice of onion, 1tsp @ of mayo and dijonnaise yielded enough to put on two slices of high-fiber bread, for a Points Plus total of 5 for the meal. Filling, tasty, fresh! And egg salad! What more could an egg-lover ask for?

Morphy Richards makes a set that has a food processing container, a whisk attachment, and an immersion blender. It's called a "blend set" and is my go to appliance for things requiring blending or mixing.

Tried this for brunch today -- didn't have sesame or scallions so I used some furikake on top and it was wonderful!

I'm about halfway through losing weight (lost 73.2 lbs, have about 60 to go), and what I is working for me is that I have been moving toward a more flexatarian approach toward eating in general. Yes, portion control is important, and - like the original questioner - I am doing Weight Watchers, but what is making it work much better this time than any time I have tried it before is the flexatarian thing...I have been tending to eat more veggies, fruits, and whole grains, and to use meat as if it was any other ingredient, rather than the focus of most meals. Also, to enhance portion control, what I do is when I cook something like quinoa, or even a chicken, I portion it out after cooking, and then refrigerate (or freeze, depending on the quantity) what I am not immediately eating, so that I have a good selection of go-to stuff for nights I don't feel like cooking. I have also been exploring vegetarian cookbooks for recipes that I can adapt to my program. This has had the added bonus of getting my roommate to munch on veggies, too. (She has gone from a 24 to a 20; I have gone from a 28 to a 16.)

So, those are my tips. Hope they are useful.

Mine was a quick quesedilla - a tortilla, an ounce of leftover roasted chicken, about 1/2 an ounce of shredded cheese, a Tbsp of fat-free sour cream (I recommend Breakstones - doesn't taste fat-free) and a Tbsp of salsa.

My breakfast varies wildly over time, since I know that if I don't vary it, I tend to do one thing until i burn out.

Just so you guys know, I'm still plugging away at this, even though it feels like it's taking forever.

But you guys have given me some great ideas, and I'm still gonna get through this, no matter how long it takes.

Thanks, Nina.

I'm trying to get caught up now, but my roommate is pulling a lot of passive/aggressive crap, like freaking out if I ask her to help by matching containers to lids, so we can figure out what we will keep.

I did get some standing dishracks for the dishes, so that the roomie can get dishes in and out of the cupboard...she claims it's too hard to lift four or five dishes to get one out. I will succeed at this. No matter how long it takes me to get caught up.

Which Ikea piece is that? I would love to talk my Landlord into letting me put something like that where the dishwasher she refuses to connect stands (she put it there "for show").

Sadly, I'm still behind, between my beloved's passing and my roomie being resistant to doing anything that might take effort on her part.

Yesterday, I got everything pulled out of the first overhead cabinet we were working on, and when I got down from the ladder and asked her to start matching containers and lids while my ex drove me to the laundry and back, she complained that she thought we were supposed to do it together, not that she would have to do it on her own. When I pointed out that I had been the one running up and down the ladder, and would be the one doing that again to put things back, she then said that she guessed someone had to reprogram her so that she liked housework. Sigh. If she *ever* did housework, the place wouldn't look like a pig sty.

Anyway, I plug away at this, despite resistance from her, and my own inertia, because I love being able to find things when I want to use them. It will get done, but probably not be finished until after the project has officially ended.

I will be doing this, but my fiance passed away this morning, so my plans for the week are pretty much all shot to hell-in-a-handbasket. I may have to double up somewhere, but I will get the assignments done by the end of the project.

The roomie and I have been enjoying finding things in our fridge and "pantry" cupboards this week, and I've already gone through some of the multiple boxes of different teas.

Our "pantry" (two cabinets) are totally reorganized, and the broken magnetic door catches have even been replaced. The oldest thing we tossed so far was a box of something or other from Finast, a store that hasn't existed in this are for at least ten years.

We will get to the fridge and freezer during the week.

And I agree with Mrs Olkid about the TEA. I had two shelves worth of tea. Currently, the only teas in the cabinet are the ones that were in open boxes. All the closed boxes are in one of those pretty charity shopping bags, and stored under a table in a different room. As I use up the open boxes, I will replace them from the shopping bag. I would have gotten them all on one of the larger shelves in the white cabinet, but I wanted to use half of the shelf for the diet snacks, so that they were all in one place when I wanted a snack. Also, I usually have a mug of tea when I have a snack, so this makes sense for our apartment.

The non "assignment" thing I did today was that when I picked up the replacement magnetic catches, I also picked up two curtain rods and the hardware therefore, so that I can ask my ex, who is taller than me and has a longer reach, to put them up next time he comes by.

It was amazing how much stuff we were able to toss, both recyclable and non-recyclable. I was also able to get some of the containers off the top of the fridge already.

I do have pics of the reorganized white cabinet, but I haven't uploaded them yet.
