My name is Lillian and until recently I had never met anyone under eighty with the same--at least anyone who didn't go by Lily. It is interesting how the trends change so quickly--there are a multitude of Lilys and Lillians in elementary school now, just a few years later.

$5ish sterilite crates are great for portable/movable storage. I stack them under the clothes rack in my closet to hold folded clothes and shoes. There are so many ways to arrange them that it makes it easier to use every bit of space. They are also better than the taller racks like the one pictured because they don't impede on hanging space.

Also, those hangers that hold five or six shirts vertically are amazing and good for umbrellas, belts, etc. As far as kitchen space, dividers that hold baking pans up (like plate racks, but bigger) vertically are amazing and really open up space.

I would seriously question whether an adult with legs ever actually sits there, or even could with the stuff behind and in front of the chair. The table/desk is cute, but the set up looks more like one of those old telephone table stations than a workable desk. It seems like the closet would be more productive as a real closet, and the tiny desk could fit in any corner of a room and look much better. Pretty creative, though!

Somehow I doubt my attempt could possibly look half as good, but thanks for the great idea and instructions!

I'm sure someone will say this is book-sacrilige, but I think it is a great idea! Especially if the books were unusable for some reason. I have a fat water-damaged tome around here somewhere that's about to become a planter or die trying. Thanks for the inspiration!

you could try that under-sink curtain idea that floats around here from time to time, though it usually looks tacky. One trick that isn't helpful for storage but might help to pretty it up--glue/tape a painted balsa wood "frame" around the mirror. The wood is so light you can affix it pretty easily, and you could do a wide black frame or something really interesting if you wanted. Good luck!

Beautiful! It took me a second to translate "ferries"--but what a lovely, comfortable space.

It looks so cold! And what's with the moldy-looking bathtub? Cool, yes, in an intimidating, minimalist, industrial sort of way. But for the bare-feet often naked room, I'd like something...warmer.

What a lovely home, and so refreshing after countless *very* similar (however beautiful) ones. I'm so glad to see AT branch out to something less cutesy and more classy than usual.

Also, I agree with previous posters that some sort of "dream home" section would calm the waters re: fewer and fewer actual apartments. I can find this sort of home in a magazine any day; smal spaces and the creative use of them (or creativity, period) is the niche this website is supposed to fill.

Love the house, thanks for the post!
