Hi all. Yes, comparing Maine Cottage to IKEA is the proverbial "apples to oranges". In friendly defense of Maine Cottage, I want to mention that our wood products are bench made in here New England one-at-a-time to order and finished in your choice of 40 colors (not all pastels!) of solid maple with premium quality hardware. And they are delivered fully assembled, adjusted as needed and placed in your home just where you want them. Maine Cottage is furniture that'll last a lifetime and your children's too! Yes, the Beatrice is very expensive. Its been in our line for a long long time. The thrift store look is its charm - the cost is in those curvaceous long turned legs, drawer, and solid maple construction. End Tables are not cheap to make if there's a lot of make like this - and made here in Maine, not China. Check out our green fabrics and upholstery for something a bit more affordable... This is an especially "fruity" combination of colors, we admit, but Maine Cottage furniture is not just painted maple furniture, it's also painted rattan (wicker) and upholstered furniture - both priced well with 40 color choices and over 200 fabrics. We're delighted you discovered our Maine Cottage fabrics and that we sell them by-the-yard. We have over 200 colorful fabrics - many of which are original prints designed by our in-house Surface Designer and artist Anita Dore. All of our Maine Cottage fabrics are custom-dyed and printed here in the states to our specs - even the Luxe fabrics which are imported from Italy, then dyed to our colors.
