I use my little S/P bowls for the table only. I have a larger bowl/pig on my counter for cooking. Also, I didn't think germs could survive in salt. Pinch and Dash: Salt and Pepper Bowls |

I've used good old fashioned milk paint in our house and it is awesome. It doesn't smell, is all natural and easy to apply on lots of surfaces. One package sells for $13 and is enough to make the equivalent of a pint of paint so it is a little pricey and the color options are verrry limited. I have been using an old window frame with the glass removed and a new mesh screen stapled to the back. I hang my earrings in the holes of the mesh and hang my necklaces on nails I hammered along the frame itself. You can paint it a fun color and hang it up.
