mschatelaine, as someone who came of age and had my first house in the 80's I couldn't agree more. I love the show, but it's a hodge podge and not accurate at all.

I love the cane dressers! I think they look great painted white against the wall color. Very sweet!

I love AT and think Maxwell and friends have great taste, so I check out the video. While it's not the greatest song/video ever made, it was fun to look at with great production values and a mildly catchy tune. There are a lot of amazing artists out there who could have used a boost from a huge blog such as apartment therapy...so that's my only complaint..that this one artist was given so much more publicity than he already has. That being said, I then clicked on the acoustic link suggested by Maxwell of Justin singing, "All Around the World" and WOW! I really liked that and now I do get what all the fuss is about. Great voice, adorable and loads of charisma. Will I ever buy a Justin Bieber song? I doubt it, but that was really good and impressive.
And yes, people can be kinda snide on the comments. With so much negativity out there in the world, wouldn't it be refreshing to hear positive, uplifting and encouraging rather than cynical, mean, and narrow minded? I think so.

My only question for Susan is, how do you ever leave this amazing space? I wouldn't be able to go outside without wanting to plop down and relax on all those great couches or cozy nooks! I just know it smells great too! Beautiful from top to bottom. Thank-you for opening your home to all of us!

I use Bar Keepers Friend for the handles like this. Just soak them in a bowl of warm water with the Bar Keepers stuff and then buff them out with a clean towel.
