Very timely for me. I'm in the process of moving too. This will be the second time in 26 years, so I'm not very experienced at this!! One thing that was suggested to me last time I moved was a First Night Box. In it I packed all my bedding, two towels, toiletries, (bubble bath), comfy pj's and a phone charger. That went right in my bedroom so that by the end of the day of the move, I could relax, get clean and go to bed in comfort. Years ago, (mid 90's), I looked at a house in Toluca Lake, CA, which is pretty pricey. This one was a fixer but it was on a double lot, had a pool, guest house and was an old Hollywood Spanish style building. Since it was such a hot mess, it was priced well below any house in the neighborhood, but alas at $450K it was still way over our budget....Anyone from LA, knows $450K in todays market will get you a nice little condo in Studio City...maybe. Anyway, someone else snatched it up and completely refurbished it. Kept all the original charm and beauty..(at least outside). Occasionally I will drive by and sigh...Oh that one got away and I still get a little teary just thinking The Home That Got Away |

Love the girls room! I want that orb chair. Most of the rooms however look like a contemporary art museum. If the owner is happy though....it's perfect! I love AT and think Maxwell and friends have great taste, so I check out the video. While it's not the greatest song/video ever made, it was fun to look at with great production values and a mildly catchy tune. There are a lot of amazing artists out there who could have used a boost from a huge blog such as apartment therapy...so that's my only complaint..that this one artist was given so much more publicity than he already has. That being said, I then clicked on the acoustic link suggested by Maxwell of Justin singing, "All Around the World" and WOW! I really liked that and now I do get what all the fuss is about. My only question for Susan is, how do you ever leave this amazing space? I wouldn't be able to go outside without wanting to plop down and relax on all those great couches or cozy nooks!
