New bed linens would be my first big change. Then I would probably hang up all the stuff i couldn't because he didn't like it, and maybe new sofa pillows.

I like the amount of black. It doesn't read as a black room, it feels very cheerful!

I would paint the underside of the arch in a bright color. A small sample can would be all you need. It's just a small area so if I got sick of it, it wouldn't be a big deal to change.

I would bet you have a special setup with a mic that works for your voice and a special area to do the work so I understand what you are facing. I would probably recommend working at night if at all possible. Inconvenient, yes, but saves money and keeps your clients happy. Have a backup if a client needs a change done in two hours. I would bet going to any old house wouldn't work. Good Luck!

My first apartment had blue walls, I absolutely adored them and I miss them dearly! They were cheerful but calming at the same time. I recently moved to an apartment with tan walls and missed my blue so much that I bought a blue couch.

I usually have a book around that is just interesting enough to make me want to read it, but not so interesting it keeps me awake. Psychology and science books tend to work well for me, but the occasional old children's novel works also. The Wizard of Oz was a recent one, as was Quiet.

This is in reference to decorating surfaces, hanging on a wall is a different matter entirely and the rules for indoor display have been followed according to the website you referred to.

Heavy objects and ceilings usually lead me to call in the pros, but I am kinda funny about heavy things falling on my head. I also kinda suck at diy.

Corn on the Cob is nice to do in large pots. Also I have boiled ribs in a pot before putting them on the grill for a quick crisping. BBQ enthusiasts would disagree with this method. I am assuming you don't cook for large groups of people, but if you do curry works well as well as pasta.

I can't say I would collect anything beyond about 9 pieces of any type of item. If you collect too many of one thing, then you only get those things for your birthday, Christmas, etc. Although a button collection might be fun to display on stretched canvases.

I love yellow with aqua. Some mirrored surfaces might be nice if you don't allow children in the room. Also, there is a blog called http://www.houseofturquoise.com/ That can be great for inspiration for this type of color palette.

Many acrylics are "water insoluble" but lower quality acrylics tend to not be. Acrylics can be watered down when wet, but should be waterproof when dry. Do a test with your paint on glass. You can do the test on the exterior and scrape it off with a razor blade later.
