Since we're a droid family when it comes to phones, I'm going to pretend it DID say smartphones. Even though i drop my phone like crazy I've still managed not to break my current phone (knocking on wood right now). This is important because my significant other CONSTANTLY admonishes me about cases, screen protectors, and the like. He's never lost or broken a phone before this summer, and I have (understatement of the year).

While on vacation in Maine, my guy stepped on his phone, crushing it. 250+ lb guy + little phone = nothing even an otterbox can save. So he called insurance and got a new one shipped asap. Upon arrival, he switched his sim card (which has pictures of our seven year old from the time she was three or so, and we suck at taking regular pictures). After changing all the settings to his preferences, all was right with the world.

Fast forward 24 hours and my lovely leaps into the lake. With phone in pocket. This doesn't just waterlog the day old phone, but sweeps it into the depths. Pictures, videos, cute songs sung by a four year old. Gone. Makes me want to cry.

Two claims in a year (or week) kicks you off insurance. Something happened to that phone a few weeks later (at this point, I stop asking about or listening to these stories) and he has to buy a new phone, and in the process loses his unlimited data. I pay the bill, so this makes me nervous, as the man has no self control.

The bike basket is awesome...but i do have to agree about the helmets. Really cute, but just not so safe.

I think it's fine. My room growing up had these dormers that fit a twin bed perfectly. I had my bed in one or the other for years. The rest of the room was like my little living room. It was great, and I wouldn't hesitate to let my kiddo do the same...whether it was a dormer or a closet.

My dishwasher style is "in the dishwasher." I have a 6 year old that has to load her own dishes instead of leaving them in the sink. So needless to say, it's not too organized. I do rearrange things when I get ready to run it, but I"m far from picky about it.

I made one of my daughter and my nephew for my mother in law's Christmas gift. Hmmm...maybe I should make a few more.

Wow, for a second I thought this was 13 year olds battling it out on youtube... Sometimes it's best to say your piece and just leave it alone. It's really unnecessary to keep posting and just makes you look silly.

Anyway, I love Sherry and Jon, I like that they are choosing more color this time around, and I like the color. If I'm not mistaken, the previous feature of these was just a pic in connection to the Homies winning thing. I know this comment is totally late, but I'm behind on reader and just had to comment....lol.

@TKPKgirl Yeah! Well said.

@ RocketScientist You are crazy...but then again, you may not want to listen to me. I'm one of those crazy population-adding, earth haters.

I used to. It's almost 10 years old and is totally shot. I plan on buying a new one within the year.

Weekdays I eat like I'm supposed to...about every three hours or so. On the weekends, I usually get sucked into projects and just drink coffee and forget to eat until I'm actually hungry...sometime only once or twice a day. Oh well.

I think the video of this house will have a lasting impression on my five year old. She was seriously squealing. I love it, too.

I think this would be pretty with pastels....like that one pick on here with the different pastel bentwood chairs. I could totally see multiple colors if they were in lighter shades.

My daughter was about 16 months when she moved to a twin bed. She did fine. There were a few mornings I found her asleep in a pile of toys on the floor, but for the most part she stayed in bed all night. I think it depends on the kid. You could always try a toddler bed first....it's not like you won't use it eventually...

I can think of stuff I would put in drawers that high up, but drawers are expensive. Seems kind of a waste. I'd think it'd be better to put them between the shirts and pants. Still an amazing closet, though. I've been loving all the organizational porn lately. I could look at pics like these all day...

This is so funny. I just found one of my old letters in a box of christmas ornaments and we were comparing them to my five year olds notes. Now, I'm gonna frame them both...love it!

It's okay. But I think I would call Honeysuckle something more appropriate...like Watermelon.

My 5 year old and I did this while cooking one day a few months ago. By the halfway point, she had abandoned her chopping duties and was sitting on the floor by the table where the computer was sitting. The screen was black, but she was staring at it the whole time. I guess it takes a few times before they realize they can do other things, huh?

Love the list, this will be great for holiday baking extravaganzas.

I went out. I usually do. Last year I camped out at Toys R Us. This year, I wasn't even going to go, but we drove by Best Buy and I showed my 5 year old the people lined up at 10 am on Thanksgiving morning. For some reason, this made her really want to go. I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to take her out for a little bit at 4 am, lol. She got up surprisingly easily, and we took travel mugs of coffee and cocoa with us.

We got 2 electric blankets, a little vacuum, and some movies at Walmart and 5 $5 pillows, a steam mop, and some flannel sheets from Target. Nothing huge, just some warm bedding and cleaning stuff, but we had a blast. We got donuts and a coke in line at Target (EXTREMELY rare breakfast for mama...we even called it a "daddy breakfast" that morning) and sat on the bench outside the store at 5 am, playing I Spy and watching people. The weather was amazing down here (Georgia) and I wore a t-shirt and jeans...so sitting outside was nice. We went home for a few hours to rest before I had to work and watched one of her $2 movies. She was so amazed when the sun came up ("I stayed up ALL night, mom!") and she ended up going to Toys R Us with my mom after I left for work.

It was amazingly fun and I will probably take her again next year, if she wants...and I think she will.

We're doing pink/blue/purple pastels for christmas this year. That means we're making a lot of our own decorations. We've spray painted army men for ornaments, made pipe cleaner and felt garlands, and painted our own glass ornaments. It's been really fun, and it helps you not buy decorations, unless you happen to find some awesome, pastel decor...which is rare.
