Hi Eeka! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Although I find your thoughts to be incorrect and extremely judgemental, I want to be very clear on something. My baking blog, i am baker, is kept free from my political and religious views. You would have had to have clicked over to my main (totally leaving i am baker) mommy blog to find out further opinions.

I would never, ever ask or expect Apartment Therapy to display any content of mine that conflicts with their basic community standards.

Sincerely,
Amanda

Pumpkin Cake with a Surprise Inside
I Am Baker

Hey thanks for the tips jlrmonogram!

I have seen a flag cake before, although it had only four layers. And I dont know what it is about me, but every time I see something that intrigues me, I want to try to put my own spin on it!

So yes! While it would have been prettier to leave the outside white (I even mentioned that in my blog post!) I am glad I tried something new and unique to me. The only way I seem to learn in baking is through trial and error!

Thanks again for the great suggestions!

I'm sorry! I totally must have submitted the wrong info. DOH!
I used a #5 tip for the royal icing and a #1M tip for the buttercream frosting rose.

I feel *pretty* foolish right about now.

That and I kinda wanted to be able to say, "I feel pretty."

;)

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Amber... there is a link to my recipe on the link she posted about for the cookies. If you use less milk you get a stiffer frosting which would be ideal for 'writing' with... add more milk to get a runnier frosting. You can always email me if you have any questions!

P.S. Thank you SOOO much for featuring my little cookies.. what a blessing to see something I did on one of the *greatest* sites out there!! Thank you!

WOW! I am the horrible mother that made these for her children. My kids eat raw, natural, and organic food for 95% of their diet. They take VitD3 and VitC and probiotics and fish oil. They are just really good kids and I wanted to TREAT them one morning. I use GEL food coloring which requires a FRACTION of normal food coloring to achieve the desired results. Spread out over the entire batter, I probably used a total of 12 drops.

The batter was mostly organic (based on my ingredients) and I added flax seed.

You can do more damage by letting your kid eat french fries and fruit snacks then I did with my rainbow pancakes.

I am sad to see that people cant just take in a moment of joy and let is sit and warm their heart. Why must everything be a “You Should” or a “You Shouldn’t”.

Just be happy.

Jeez.
