Alan, your a cutie, but you may be a bit of a procrastinator... when you wallpapered that bedroom, you meant to cutout the windows, but just never got around to it. Right?

I had never heard of doing this, at least not on purpose, but much to my surprise, I rather like it, not so much in the living room, but in the two bedroom pictures. I think it lends a kinda' sexy, decadence to the rooms. It would definitely take a certain style of house (and owner) to pull it off. I'll be interested to see if it catches on.

My gosh, all you critics... they have only been in the house for eight months! In that short time, they have done wonders with a rather generic house.

I really like that x base coffee table, too. Also, I like the simple, yet elegant, treatment of the triangular wall by the stairs in picture 6. And the lovely back yard. Lucky dogs!

Auni, I hope you'll heed raken123's advice… some very good suggestions there.

Also, study other "Home Tours" in AT, and online home magazines, for some good decorating ideas. Then in a few months comeback to AT with new pictures!

I would add, you also need some house plants. Go to Home Depot, Target, or someplace that sells indoor plants. Pothos is very easy to grow and can easily be rooted to make more plants. Place plants in window sills, etc., where they will get good light, but not direct sun.

I'm trying to figure out how one would dust that twig chandelier.

Anyway, that coffee table, dinning table and headboard are unbelievably beautiful, but I would think the cost to have anything like them custom made would be prohibitive to the average consumer. It's probably too late to ask Santa.... huh?

phlora, your comment made me laugh out loud… and I agree 100 percent!

BTW @Blandwagon, I too, thought the wallpaper was the results of a Rorschach test. I had to go back and take another look. Okay, Rorschach Stags.

Great style! You gals could give up your day jobs and decorate homes.

Only note of discord are the knifes by the kitchen window. If they were put somewhere less prominent, like in a drawer, everything would be perfect.

Inside and out, this home is just wonderful. But what became of the "back shack"?

Violeta, I don't see "a little touch of ugly" anywhere. Your home looks as lovely as the countryside it's in.

Whoever had this house trekked over the hills from Glendale to Hollywood, sure knew what they had. It must have some great stories... if only it could talk.

So glad to see so much of it lovingly restored, and not "updated."

So inspiring that I had to checked out the magazine photos. Modern with just enough touches of warmth. I especially love the dinning room table and wouldn't think to put those chair with it, but it looks great.

I love the eclectic feel -- don't even mind the messy cushions, but please tell me that's not a real</I> stuffed animal.

Kittie - what you've done in that small space is nothing short of AWESOME! I just love the kitchen and tiled wall. And I love the bathroom and all glass in it, especially the sink, and yes, the shells too. if you don't mind, can you give a ballpark figure on the cost of the renovation?
