Bleh. Spaghetti squash still tastes like blandish bitterish squash. Even with terrific sauce. Check out other options, there are quinoa noodles, brown rice pasta, corn pasta... skip the squash 'noodles' (please).

I love a light turquoise wall, or pale teal wall with red and white. Just ground the room with a dark wood headboard.

It's tasty in quiche.

Or you could just send it to applebomb and me.

I bought that exact mattress (Natura Tranquil, but queen size and no boxspring) this fall. I've had it for three months and love it. Side sleeping, back sleeping and belly sleeping all with great support but not too much 'firmness'. I was hesitant about the 20 year guarantees, since the company hasn't been around that long, who knows how long the mattresses will really last. But I was determined to buy as green as I could afford. Oh, and I bought it in Canada. Similar price points here.

Pamela's Pancakes totally rock. I thought the celiac diagnosis was a curse and I'd be stuck with pseudo-baked goods, 'till I tried this mix. Real pancakes - seriously, real pancakes from a gluten-free mix. Expensive, but awesome.

So I was inspired by the description and their simplicity just made these to have as a bedtime snack (1/2 recipe). Eh - they're okay... nothing special though. I don't think I'd make 'em again.

Careful with the Rice Krispies treats. Even if the marshmallows are gluten free, the Rice Krispies are not. They contain barley malt (toxic to us Celiacs).

Watch out for the following in lists of ingredients: malt, natural and artificial flavouring, caramel colour, Maltodextrin, Dextrin, and mono and diglycerides, too.

Some common items containing gluten include: Soy sauce, boullion cubes, baked beans, immitation crab meat, instant coffee, corn flakes, flavoured potato chips and tortilla chips, canned soup, cheap chocolate, dry mustard powder, blue cheese (oh no!), salad dressing, white pepper, curry powder, chili powder, chutneys and pickles and many, many more.

If you really are making these gluten free, please also make sure you buy gluten free baking powder and gluten free vanilla extract.

Gluten hides in everything, it seems.

Can we have a gluten-free week every month? These look and sound amazing. If I didn't have a New Year's Resolution to complete all 225 recipes in a Gluten Free Vegetarian cookbook (I know, totally copying Julie & Julia), I'd totally make these. Next year, I guess.

Outdoor light timers are amazing. I love coming home to Christmas lights and not having to go out into the cold before bed to turn them off.

I love your kitchen and bathroom, but I'm at a loss about the actual furnishings (or lack of) for the rest of your place.

Do you all just pile into the bed or sit around the table?

About the boss ordering food for the group - I find they either forget and I'm glum, or they remember and I have to be the aggressive, first-in-line, dive-at-the-box/buffet else the one veggie option will get snatched up by some meat-eater hoping to be healthy for the day.

I hate having to be the food police, but come on - if you aren't a vegetarian, don't pig out on the veggie option at the group functions.

I know your the competition, but I couldn't help but give you a thumbs up for your kitchen! I love the cafe-style white kitchen seating set-up and the bursts of colour against the black and white backdrops.

Love your materials, but I'm not sure this layout would work for me. I've got 690 sq ft and manage a living room that seats 8-9 quite easily and a dining space that regularly hosts 6 for dinner. Is there a reason you decided to forego space for a dining table and did the breakfast bar?

Thanks for the votes!

Gvinton- the dining table is probably my favourite piece. It's decoupaged - covered with ticket stubs, maps and other paraphernalia from a 3 month trip through France, Italy and Greece. The best thing about it is it doesn't show crumbs or spills.

Krissy B - the sofa is from IKEA. It's the EKESKOG. It's huge (almost 8' long) and comfy (40" deep) and often a challenge to fit into a small space or up the flights of stairs when moving, but sooo worth it. It seats 4 or 5 during movie nights or family visits and is the size of a single bed for hosting an overnight guest.

laurapescot - glad you like the place, even with the 'purple'. The wall was meant to be black. Sometimes in the daytime there is the faintist tinge of eggplant to it. I think the paint colour was called 'Napoleon'.

AngelaDee76 - the mirror was a total score at Pier 1 (about 6 years ago).

If we could get some sunshine here in Vermont, I'd be happy to retake & repost some crisper photos. I think the low light from the drizzy, grey spring days *sigh* is resulting in the grainy-ness.
