Could someone suggest a few rituals or ways to calm and comfort yourself when you get home? Sometimes after a long, challenging day, my first inclination is to just come home and eat comfort foods. I know this isn't healthy, and it doesn't actually sustain happiness for very long. I've thought about walks and meditation, but sometimes my family's presence or needs prevent me from having total alone time. Thanks for your thoughts. I've heard that when trying to keep guac fresh, you can pour a little water over the top once it is all mixed up. The water keeps air from reaching the avocados and turning them brown. Then when you're ready to serve it, you just pour off the water and give your guac a few stirs. I haven't tried this yet. It sounds strange, but I have heard it works! Oh my goodness. This is one of my biggest pet peeves with people (namely Kathy Freston) promoting a vegan lifestyle. There are so many wonderful veggies in the world, why ruin everything with fake meat. At least don't teach people that this is the only way to go vegan. I made these, and though they do fall apart quite a bit, they are FANTASTIC! I only used half the suggested amount of agave nectar, and they were plenty sweet. People think this is such a clever idea, and at first, I thought it was too. But seriously, who wants to cut all of those off in snowy weather to change a flat. :( If you're really a die hard winter rider, you can buy metal studded snow tires. Curried Tofu Salad: Tiny cubes of tofu (uncooked) mixed with Greek Yogurt (I also like plain coconut yogurt), curry powder, lime juice, salt & pepper, scallions, slivered almonds, chopped Granny Smith apple, raisins, and cilantro. Eat in a pita, on bread, over greens, etc. One of the best recipes I have ever made!!! I think it's amazingly better than egg salad.
