In reply to avimom it's not a chemical reaction which makes it goo so no worry about that. It's the stuff that swells in dispobable nappies. It only turns to goo because it's absorbed water and the dissolving powder breaks it down so it can't absorb water again.
(Who knew a jokey project on this stuff would turn out useful?)

Great fun for messy play but I'd agree it's not brilliant for baths and can be a bit slippery, I'd lift small children into the bath to avoid a fall and be on the safe side. It's been popular in the UK for a while and I've never heard of any UTIs here although I can't say I stringently research that.
The powder which turns it back to a water is pretty much table salt so no harm with it going down the drain.

That jug/pitcher/vase/container thing holding the juice in the picture with the cake. Where did you get it? What is it? I must have it!

I imagine you could just leave the water to evaporate, then rinse and hand dry it to get rid of any musty smells.

So you have sticky foam and gummy grip. My reccomendation would be pad the rail with the sticky foam, and then gummy grip on top. Voila, it fits and he isn't chewing the adhesive, just the rubber.

I just feel sorry for the kid with the lower bunk. Appears to be accessible by either he-man leaping up or neck-breaking leaping down.
