The leather is actually a baseball gloved colored tan and is discolored with age. It's pretty nice as is but I'm think hair on cow hide will be very mid century modern.

Exactly what I needed and I'm sure it's going to help a lot. But still would love any input and advice. I took the ottoman apart and started sanding it down, there are a few deeps gashes in the wood that I'm think I can fill in with wood putty but have never used the stuff before and not sure how it will turn out once stained so any advice about that would be great. I'm also considering keeping the original leather on since it's in decent shape but am really feeling the hair on cow hide. Your thoughts?

Actually $150 sounds good, but I have seen this chair for much less and was actually not sure I wanted to spend $150 on it. They were the Plycraft version of course. I'm not sure this is Plycraft, the armrest are a little different than those I've seen.

I found and bought a desk very similar to this at Ikea on New Years day. It was on sale for $50 regular $110. It's called the LINNARP and the one I got was finished solid pine. Wasn't exactly what I wanted so I sanded off clear finish and stained and changed the handles. Came out really nice and you wouldn't know it was from Ikea. It's very sturdy and well made and like I said it was solid pine. The only problem for you is I think Ikea only sells the black brown version now, the pine one I got was a New Years special and isn't sold anymore but not sure. It looks almost identical to what you are looking for and if you have time to sand and stain and screw on some slim linear knobs I'm sure you can pull it off.
