Nice views, but the Christmas tree must have been missed in editing. I really don't like when people move items in the middle of a photo shoot. They should just leave it how it is lived in.

I love this. I use canning jars all the time and would love to not have my tea spill all over me while driving. What makes me love it even more is the website video. Hilarious!

My daughter got hooked on reading from Magic Tree House books. She is about to go into the third grade and she can tear through two in one day. After she read the titanic book she found a documentary online and wikipedia'ed it to learn more. She has read almost all of the books and it has really helped her reading skills to move on to books that are very much above her reading level. She has completed about 8 full length chapter books along with several Magic Tree House Books.

My son on the other hand was not a fast reader in Kindergarten. We found that he didnt want to read unless it was really interesting to him. My husband found that a "simple" card (Magic the Gathering" came really honed in on our sons math and reading skills. The cards have a lot of text on them with complex words and there is a lot of fast math, all of which he has picked on on rather quickly usually beats my husbands friends at the game that they have been playing for years. Now the only things besides the cards that he will really likes to read are comics and Goosebumps Books. Which, as a second grader, I dont feel the need to push other books onto him until his proficiency has increased.

Dish Clothes all the way. I knit mine out of cotton and they last forever.

Emmi: With 5 in my household plus cat and dog dishes, i love my dishwasher. But, when i do choose to wash by hand, i just open my dishwasher and load the clean but not rinsed dishes into it and run the rinse cycle. I think that there is a lot of water wasted in the rinsing of dishes (although, when I have no dishwasher, i simple fill the second sink with clean water and dunk them for rinsing so that there is not quite as much water wasted.

i save every wine bottle that i drink. This may seem excessive, but i have a catering business and use them for carafes on all the tables. I never put lemon in them for i wont know how to easily get them out.

Don't forget Falling Waters in Western North Carolina. They have yurts and camping. Rafting, tubing, zip lining, biking, hiking, train rides and so much more just moments away. Headed there this weekend!

I tend to do this at least every two months, but sometimes every week. I have an addiction. Sometimes I just rearrange in a particular room or change a rooms purpose entirely. I have an 1800 sq ft house with three bedrooms, large living room, breakfast room/sunroom and a dining room. Although my two main rooms are completely different, my furniture seems to fit every which way that I put it. My kids tend to find my habit quite funny.

My husbands family makes banana mush. Its peanut butter, a banana, and mayo mixed. I have never been able to try it, but he now has my kids hooked on it.

You can get a flip flap knockoff at the dollar tree or the real thing on ebay for about 2 bucks, both come with flowers, not just the leaves. Over in Suzhou China, everyone had these on their dashboards of their cars.

I did once in Asheville NC. It was my first house, and we froze. Especially since i had no car and had to walk to the bus to get to college everyday, so there was almost no escape. We watched reruns of Twin Peaks all winter in our sleeping bags in the living room and i took a lot of hot baths. After about 2 months of cold, someone broke down and got it the gas turned on. We were so relieved and excited, until we got home that first night. All of the windows were fogged up and the heat would not turn off (we didn't know anything about a house, as now i know we could have just turn off the pilot light or flipped the breaker). We had to leave the windows open until the heater guy could get out there the next day. But walking around in our skivvies for a night was much better then being in our sleeping bags constantly.

I have the faux rock to cover my well pipe in the middle of my yard. Keeps me from mowing over it and my kids from running into it. Sure it doesn't look fantastic, but it is better then a pipe sticking out of the ground.

I have got to give it up to the designers for a rad design and the ability to market these to hipsters that are willing to pay $200 for these. I also love that they charge the same amount for their stools even if you send them your thrashed decks.

My hat is off to you.

Don't care for the cluttered decor, but wow, I love the knife holder (besides the $89 price tag). Something that can definitely be recreated for about $5.

If you have aluminum or plastic blinds, take them down and wash them in the shower. Doing this allows you to get all of the excess build up of grease or dirt off of them with a good soaping.

My method is the commercial method. It lets me watch my programs and get organized/clean. In one break, i have emptied a full dishwasher, wiped down the dinner table, wiped the counters, sorted the mail for the day (and filed appropriately).

My other theory is that there is perfection in imperfection. If you act all the time that it is horrible to leave a dish in the sink, it will be horrible to you, but if you settle with the fact, that unless you have no job and no other things to occupy your time, it is OKAY to leave a few things out. I came to this when one time i had an unexpected visitor and i said excuse the mess (which was not much at that time), and they replied "Dont worry, i live in my house too". Its okay for your place to be lived in looking, thats what makes a house a home.

Bed, Storage, outfitting the closet with a lower rod and a higher rod will help out a a lot with your little guys getting ready, a table with chair and a reading chair. And don't forget something for stuffed animal storage and a well sorted bin for all of those little toys and art supplies.

A fresh paint color that they help to pick out does wonders. I just get several different colors (all shades that i like and can live with) and let them pick from those!

For most magazines, i cut our the articles and photos that i like and scan them to my computer. On a rainy day, i go through and compile them in a scrapbook like photo album on a per page basis based on kitchen, living room, bathroom, if i ever had an extra room to decorate, ect. I print and put into binders by topic. I know it might seem redundant to print them, but i enjoy the inspiration books that i make.

For the magazines that i love to keep, like national geographic and dwell, i made a plexi-glass tall box on casters with a removable lid for storing them each. I then use these oddly tall boxes as plant stands that i have in my entry way.
