Who makes those hollow rounded corner white cubes holding the Nintendo and your computer speakers? They look great!

This will severely limit the lifespan of your equipment. Most A/V receivers need at least 2 inches on all sides for proper ventilation. Also, you are adding a lot of heat to the device above it, multiplying your problem. Unless you have a good amount of fans hidden in there, I would stay away from this project.

The problem with electric tooth brushes is too many people HOLD the brush still and forget to BRUSH their teeth! I have been brushing manually for 30 years with ZERO cavities or gum problems. Spend THREE minutes a day and stop being lazy.

Be careful when buying the Lack TV stand, 90% of A/V Receivers (Amplifiers) do not fit in the shelf! Even if it does happen to fit there is definitely NOT enough room for proper venting.

It's a shame, I love the look of that stand...

Switching From PC To A Mac: Common Myths Debunked

I'm guessing this article is posted for people who would be buying a HTiB (Home Theater in a Box). A few other things to look for are:

THD - Total Harmonic Distortion
Basically the lower the THD the more realistic and accurate the sound is. Try to find a system that has LESS THAN 1%. Be careful some have up to 10% THD.

Powered vs. Passive Subwoofer
Typically passive subs are weak or underpowered and do not have an cutoff/crossover. This means that you will be hearing a lot of bass in voices (bad). Powered subs, on the other hand, usually have a cutoff/crossover and have much deeper bass without sounding 'muddy'.

IGNORE WATTAGE!
Does that HTiB have a huge '1100 WATTS' sticker on the front? Most of the cheaper ones throw a lot of watts at you to TRY and compensate the speaker quality. Adding more watts to a system can only do so much, more watts does not equal louder sound.

A final thought is this:
I would rather have a GOOD 2.0 or 2.1 speaker setup over a cheap HTiB any day. You just spent $1000+ on a HDTV, spend a few hundred more to COMPLETE your entertainment system.
