I think you could go either way with this, a warm honey or peach color if you like warmer tones, or a cool mint or grey could look equally great. What goes best with your other furnishings?

If privacy isn't an issue, I would consider getting rid of the blinds altogether. If that's not possible, roman shades would look good.

Also, I suggest a larger rug (maybe a 4x6?) instead of a little mat in front of the sink. It makes so much more impact.

My husband and I love both our Karlstad sectional and our Poang chair. We've had both for almost 2 years and they are still looking new. We are also poor, newly married, and fixing up our very first house, so my knowledge of high end, luxury furniture is very limited...take my opinion with a grain of salt. :)

Your kitchen looks great! I love the idea of the plate and bowl for your washing up supplies! I might have to steal that!

If you find that the desk has a nice grain when you strip it, you could consider staining it with a pinkish stain, like Rose Quartz or Desert Blush from Cabot.

It would keep things in the pink family that you're going for, but would look less "hosed-down", so to speak. Beautiful desk by the way!
