I haven't had problems with my couch being torn up, but I have had a lot of problems with dressers for my boys. Buy solid wood. If not, then each time something is opened, leaned on, and slammed shut, it will fall apart. Finally, I ended up with hard plastic dressers since I couldn't afford wood. they are the only ones that haven't fallen apart.

I have a drop leaf table from pier one that might fit in the space you have. We keep it closed and just open it up for meals. We keep an ottoman underneath it for seating and two chairs on the side.

Ways To Update Original '50s Kitchen in Rental (on My Dime)? Good Questions

I had the same experience. Our landlord insisted that everything was insulated just fine and then ignored everything else. I started keeping a list of everything that was said from the neighbor. After he start threatened my kids for playing outside (on a quiet cul-de-sac), I send the landlord the list and she refused to renew their lease. Eventually, we moved because it was just too much stress on us.

We bought melamine plates to match our other plates. This allowed the kids to clear the table and learn to wash dishes without me worrying about broken plates.

We like to make pine needle tea when camping. It's good, but it's better when we remember the sugar.

I put the tree up after Thanksgiving simply because I've got a couple of extra days off of work then and it makes the most sense. I take it down right after New years for the same reason. Extra time off means chores.

I think it really depends on the baby. Some sleep all the time, others are fairly demanding. My son visits me at work, usually up to an hour at a time. I don't get much work done, just scheduling appts and phone calls, but I know that I can finish up when he's gone.

I had completely forgotten about mine. It was black with rinestones down the tail. This makes me want to get one for my sons' room.

I also had surgery to correct this and the sleep apnea that I had. I had my tonsils and adenoids removed, which, as an adult, was horrible. The recovery was at least a week, but I'm so glad I did it.

I can't remember where, but I remember reading that they didn't want cribs without slats because they were worried about air circulation. (like the whole open top thing didn't help)

I would consider removing some of the doors on the top and painting the walls a golden color. I would focus on a european cafe look with a nice light fixture and a rug.

We have about 600 sf, sitting on top of a double garage. There are 5 of us, plus a lizard. It works for us, but our older boys, 8 & 10, keep having to pare down on the toys they get from grandparents. Plus the baby (6 mo) is still in our room.

My books are the only things I can think of: A guide to Serial Killers, the Poisoner's Handbook, Anne Rice's beauty series.

I also still keep all my kids' teeth. Actually, they are in small bags in my jewelry box and the boys found them a couple of months ago when I forgot about them and asked them to get me something out of my jewelry box. The are 7 & 9 now, so it's not like it was a big mystery.

Oh, and a placenta in the freezer. I had a homebirth with my baby 3 months ago and just haven't done anything with the placenta yet.
