im a complete newbie to grain salads. is this supposed to be eaten warm or cold? it seems to me that unless you cook everything at about the same time, the onions would be cold going into the warm couscous which seems weird.

i made this last night. it was delicious! it was a bit thick for my taste so i added about 1/2-3/4 cup extra chicken broth and about 2 tsps of lemon juice to brighten the flavour a little more. i garnished it with parmesan and dill and my mother who hates pea soup went back for seconds.

queenyellowsun - vancouver really isnt that cold. the average low in january is about 1 degree (33f) and the high is about 6 (43f). vancouver rarely gets snow and when it does, it doesnt last more than a day or so.

im going to try this tomorrow morning, ive been known to like odd food combinations ie: vinegar on eggs or toast, cream cheese and peanut butter sandwiches, ranch on mac and cheese.

i am like a furnace when i sleep. walking into my room is literally like walking into a fridge, and i sleep naked on top of that. i still end up waking up in the night burning up and having to kick my legs out from under the blanket to cool down. i swear i was a polar bear or something in a past life.

i sleep with my mattress right on the floor and i love it, granted im quite short (5'1 on a good day).
my bed does double duty as a couch when im watching tv in my room, the height (or lack of it) doesnt bother me at all. i find it much more comfortable to sit on than a regular height bed as i dont like having my legs just dangling over the edge. probably a combination of watching too many scary movies and that it presses on the back of my knees and my feet quickly fall asleep.
ive never had a problem getting out of bed in the morning and having to stand all the way up, i find it helps me wake up more quickly instead of walking around half asleep for half an hour after getting up. and for "active sleepers" its nice to not worry about rolling out of bed to a rude awakening.
