it's hard to get a sense of how much space you have and why you are committed to one of two spots for the tv. i think it would help to make a scale drawing of your room, make scale cutouts of furniture pieces, play around. it will open up options that are hard to think of while standing in the middle of a room. also, consider re-defining the spaces (eg. could the dining room work as a tv area?) to suit your lifestyle.
