We have company living with us the entire month of December. We live so far that when people come they come for a long time. I think something that is helpful is to let go of the idea of perfection. Try and plan and organize as much as you can, then when they get there let go and relax. It only makes the situation worse when you have big expectations and things don't go as you hoped.

We live 3700 km from our family. The flights are extremely expensive so when we had to fly with our 20 month old on our lap there wasn't the option to buy another ticket. During the four hour flight my son cried the whole time and then vomited on myself and the lady next to me. Trust me when I say I had a worst time than anyone around me. There are times when parents have to travel and while everyone hates it, the parents usually have it the worst.

I love this post. I might not pick a neon looking colour but if I could it would be a rich, warm, colour. I live in Northern Alberta where six months of the year it is snow and cold. I don't understand why people keep their houses so bland and neutral. If I had it my way the whole city would be full of colours.

Maybe she wanted it to look like a country B&B. It's a bold room, and while I wouldn't do it, I admire people who go for what they like even if it is not a conventional look.

I love mums. I know they are cheap and common but they tell me Fall is here and I love Fall.

The hard thing for me is my extremely limited budget. When i see something that I want for a future project that is extremely cheap I scoop it up. This means that I never have a total room bought but several things for several different rooms. So I work on different rooms at the same time. It drives me crazy. I just wish I had all the money, time, and ability to finish each room in a month. Oh well, first world problems.

I am guessing from her descriptions that she doesn't do a lot of cooking in that kitchen. If that is the case this a cute upgrade for almost no money. When you are working with zero dollars you have to do what you can. When I first moved out I lived the first year on english muffins and peanut butter. No Flambe for me. I am guessing she hasn't tried that either.

Haters gonna hate. I love the look of all the different options. I wouldn't put them in a bathroom unless it was a powder room with a mirror. Be still my pounding heart.

I think it is fine idea to have a joint birthday party when they are younger and have no idea. My kids are two years apart less one week and while they are little and don't know the difference we are totally doing joint parties. Our kids have so much already they aren't going to suffer because of something they don't even understand yet.

While I don't think it would hold I do think it is a great idea that could be improved upon. I dream of living in a place where I could have a clothes line.

I knew when I saw the bed that the comments would be divided. I think it looks amazing and I think if you had kept the wood and changed the fabric it would have looked amazing too.

I am so thankful that my husband has no opinion whatsoever of the way our house looks. I often think that is one of my favourite qualities about him. I cannot imagine having to compromise over the way our house looks. It seems like such an integral part of who I am it would be hard to change it. Though I do have to say that I attempt to make our house a comfortable and warm place for him and our kids.
