Hi y'all and firstly thanks for the nice comments ! Thought I better poke my head in just to answer about the wall panels. :)

We had a carpenter machine cut the panels from 18mm MDF, then we gave them a few coats of paint and put them up using a strong adhesive using 10mm wooden batons as spacers. Easy as !
