I don't want to clean more than 1000 square feet per week. Smaller is easier for me to manage. I want a simpler life, and smaller with less stuff helps me accomplish that. Plus the aesthetic of small, cute and cozy really appeals to me. I love all the articles on small space living and storage solutions. The Case for a Small Space |

I love my rough linen sheet. It's the only sheet I need (duvet cover on top may eventually get replaced by a rough linen one). Yes, the price was expensive, but it was worth it. I wash the sheet it the morning and hang it to dry by bed time. Tricia rose is super duper about filling and mailing your order, too. Wonderful product, wonderful company. I grew up in Pullman eating this cheese. It's wonderful! I never knew people thought cheese in a can was weird or bad. To me, it's always been the good stuff. Cheese in a Can: Cougar Gold Cheddar The Cheesemonger |

Normally, I'm in the "don't paint the wood" camp. But this is lovely - the best of both worlds. You get the crisp look of white paint, and the lovely wooden drawer fronts. Plus, I like how the new design highlights the geometry and proportions of the piece. Before & After: Divine Dresser Makeover Twenty-Six to Life |

If I were your landlord (I am a landlord), and you were in agreement, I would send over my handyman to remove the bricks and turn them into a little patio. I would then give you permission to paint the panelling if you so desired. What To Do with Fireplace Remnant? Good Questions |

I was prepared to hate this re-do, but was very surprised to love it upon clicking through. I love the paint (and I usually dislike the painted wood furniture). I love the numbers. It's awesome. Before & After: Dresser Re-Do Inspired by Anthropologie Red Hen Home |

I'm a single mother of a tiny infant, so all the things on the list are unrealistic. I've vowed to exercise with the baby every day for the two weeks surrounding mother's day. And, I'd really like to get myself some beautiful baby alpaca yarn to knit myself a sweater. The Best Mother's Day Gift Reader Survey |

I agree with A Conley. This is art - and it's not offensive to artists to call it that. Art is what speaks to you - it is subjective. I think this is a lovely project, and it may be derivative art, but each person who does this project is going to get a different result. Each will be customized to its creator's preferences. And if it is valued, it will be art. Not only that, this project is a great way to get those people who don't believe in their artistic abilities into creating something beautiful. For the clothes that are in limbo - not yet done being worn - I love the idea of a coat tree. The clothes are off the floor/chair/bed, they get aired, and coat trees are cool. I've been searching for just the right one for years now. 5 Steps to a Permanently Cleaner Bedroom |

My college student neighbors had a party that got out of hand. When I asked them to tone it down (at two or three in the morning) they admitted they needed help, and asked if they could tell their guests that I was going to call the police if everyone didn't scram. I told them it was fine to blame it on the cranky old lady next door, and sure enough, the guests left expeditiously and I got a little sleep. When is the Party Over? |

I'm in favor of impromptu tea parties. They can be held for any age, and any/both gender. All you need is tea and cakes/muffins/scones. They don't last too long, but you generally get good conversation. 10 Reasons To Throw A Party Besides A Birthday |
