I'm kind of shocked by how old-fashioned these posts are -- no politics? no religion? the world is exploding -- wars, famine, poverty, liberation from tyranny. Half our american cities are currently being occupied by people who've been screwed by the system and have legitimate complaints. Why would you want to give in to conservatives when they're responsible for so much sexism and homophobia in our world? who cares if it's your grandmother --? Adults should be able to carry on adult conversations. Why would anyone subject themselves to a holiday in which they say nothing??? What a sad state of affairs. Makes me lose my appetite.

I don't understand how she couldn't be eligible for social security benefits and is losing health insurance (a reminder once again that we need a nationalized healthcare system). Sad story. But your efforts are so lovely and I'm sure will make some lucky winner very happy.

Hey - the tip about lemon rinds in a garbage disposal? WRONG. When I ended up with a clogged garbage disposal two hours before a thanksgiving dinner for 20 people, the plumber I called came over and gave me a nice lecture on what does and doesn't go in a garbage disposal. Lemon rinds are one of the no-nos. They're too thick for the blades and clog drains. Sorry.

This is one of the best house tours ever! LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this place. The F-U is perfectly hilarious. Your taste is elegant and feminine and absolutely lovely. Best place in LA for sure!

I am looking forward to the day when the "open plan" kitchen/dining/living room is over. This is a perfect example of why it doesn't work - the overdone haughty living room (with nary a place to sit for long and have a conversation) looks positively aggressive next to the dinky kitchen. And the "dining room" similarly seems like it is cowed by the furniture in the living room. The rest is more show-house than live-here-house - the den is terrifying! And if I were a child in that room staring up at the images on the ceiling I'm not sure how I would feel every morning. All that being said, it is a bizarre eccentric and highly sophisticated interior but does not look like a fun place to be.
