Nice job! I am a native Californian who lived in Las Vegas (Southern Highlands)from 2006-2010. The lack of design choices out there and the number of de-personalized homes out there abound. It's great to see someone did something with their tract home/cookie cutter/box. It just shows the possibilities that those homes have in the right hands. I recently moved and agonized over the living room furniture layout-- every wall had a window or a door, the fireplace is off-center, there is a built-in bookcase which is off-center, etc. The LR is also narrow. I ended up floating the furniture in the room and creating a focal point out of the fireplace and the illusion of symmetry. This is my least favorite room. I have enjoyed looking at a lot of Eddie's work, but this window just seems thrown together. A lot of the elements (orange & white geometric artwork, blue lamp, and area rug are great)--but the overall effect is jarring and irritating. I think the splatter painted walls and china display are what's ruining this one for me... As others have mentioned, this room is very bottom heavy. IMO a different rug color would make the all the difference between a somewhat unpleasing design and a very attractive one. The designer does convey the collector theme well.
