This looks like a great idea, for the parents anyway. People who can't come to the shower send in their advice to the new parents and those attending the party can write their personal message on a notecard. Might be a fun thing to read at the even, too, instead of the usual, "Oh, look at such and such gift."

Beets, if you like them, are naturally high in iron. And I tend to notice that I'm low in iron if I start bruising easily all of a sudden. And again on the thumbs up on the Vitamin C (I do chewables) with the iron foods or supplement you're having. If you're anemic, you need more than the typical 18mg, and some iron (ferrous sulfate, ferrous feromate?, etc...you have to ask your Dr.) are better for you than others. Seafood and of course meat and liver. If you make liver into a pate-you can just have a little bit on toast and it's delicious.

I recently stained my pot (didn't mind the lamb shank stains) but smoking a duck in the creuset (I know, I know) instead of a wok, not a good idea! So, I appreciate the timeliness of the question and will have to check out these options. I'm wary of the bleaching thing, eventhough it's the cheapest, but won't it leach into the next food you cook? Should you boil water in the pot after this method?

Counting out loud and keep saying it in my head over and over until the person stops talking, and not letting anyone talk to me until I've put in all the amount for that particular ingredient, or put it all back if it's not mixed with other things already and start again.

I bought Siggi's to try and to see what merited the $2.79 price I see at my local natural food store. But for less cost and more quantity than that I'll be sticking to my Fage. Is it because it's imported from Iceland? I don't get it.

I've gone through my blueberry vinegar, champagne and rice wine vinegars, more than any of the other staples I have on hand. Well, blueberry vinegar, wasn't really a staple when I first bought it but now it is and I either have to make some or order some soon because I feel deprived!!!! ; )

I've had my eye on this bedding for a while now, I love that the color combinations. They're still kid-like without being babyish and so modern. I love that the bumper can transform into a blanket for later-really smart. If you're going to spend all this money on crib bedding, it should be put to good use after just one year.

Actually what you're describing is the poor man's version of turkish coffee. I used to make mine in an open pot, pour the desired water and really finely ground coffee; let it come to a boil, then quickly turn it down (stirring a bit; you'll see the foam start to form) and keep it on simmer until it comes to a simmering boil again, (about 5 minutes). My aunt taught me this method and it produces the smoothest cup. I love it. I use an enamel pot to make cleaning it after easier-baking soda!

What I won't eat out: chicken or salmon or not rare to find fish; pasta unless it's restaurant made and truly interesting toppings, and any type of standard salad. What I love ordering: sushi, game meat, duck, lamb (although I make the latter a lot), anything Asian or Thai, because even though I have a lot of the ingredients, don't feel like it's 2nd nature yet. At breakfast, oatmeal is always a no, but omelettes or yoghurt is still a go.

Yeh, for the mother in law who's saying she'd like to be told? You're one in a million and your in law should be happy to be able to deal with you so honestly and directly. It's taken years for my mother in law to actually believe me when I tell her: "No thank you, don't need it (or want it.)" and told very nicely.

So, if you can't say no or it's not accepted, then regift-I love the clear jar idea. Oh, and bringing it to work is a favorite, too.

I have a food blog and for the past year, I've been having friends come over to make something they really want to try making together (pasta, unique cookies, holiday food.) No longer having family nearby to cook with, I really enjoy spending time with my friends this way and we each walk away with delicious food!!!

Marcel is an a-le on a 1st class level. However, had it been a woman who was harassed by a bunch of men, those people would have been kicked off the show. Violence in real life and on a reality show is unacceptable and Colicchio should have thrown off both the guy filming (the guy who won) and the one who was forcing Marcel down.

And yeh, I'm glad that Fabio called him out on it, too. Seriously, what do you expect, they're going to ask questions that are most provocative, so don't come on the show if you don't want to talk about it, but you know, in the end, whether he answers or not, it's all drama and entertainment for us. This is where the show loses me.
